Training (Victoria/Michael)

"Why does everyone want me to punch them in their face??" I say and stand up. I get ready and without any hesitation I throw my fist as hard as I could.

I don't flinch at all as her fist connects with my cheekbone. Really, my stance doesn't even waver. Never come in from the side. The only punches that have any effect are uppercuts and jabs. Hooks will get your arm chopped off. Literally. Try again.

I'm impatient and all this punching gets on my nerves. I know I am not a boxer or fighter at all and that means I'm naturally weaker than for example boys, but I want to do this good. I try another punch, this time aiming for his jaw.

I catch her fist and flip her over my shoulder. Lesson number two. Expect the unexpected. I wait for her next move.

Without waiting I pull him on the ground. "I don't think I should punch any supernatural in the face. Obviously you saw me, I think I would turn into ash if they would respond to my punch."

I smirk and leap to my feet. You're right, you won't be punching supernaturals in the face, but if you can't put up a bloody decent fight against me then you sure as hell won't do any damage on a supernatural. I walk over to my bag and grab an unassembled trap. I toss it to the ground next to her. PUt this together. If you can't go up against a supernatural, best be able to trap him.

Okay, I was the one asking for this training, so I have to do this. But this time it's much easier. My dad always gave me traps to build together, so I sort of know how they get together, although it is hard to remember everything. Six minutes later it's done. I look to Michael and wait for another shattering response.

I walk and kick the trip wire. Nothing happens. You forgot to connect the trip wire. My words aren't scathing. My voice is calm.

"Oh, right", I say and make the connection so it should work. "There we go."
I wonder what I have to learn next. Punching? I still have to practice. My crossbow? Practice as well. I sigh

I nod and throw a dagger at the wire. The wire snaps and the trap launches. Good. I step over. Now, you're going to keep shooting that crossbow until you hit the hole. I lean against a tree and cross my arms.

Yep, there we go again. I stand up and take my crossbow with me. This time I will hit the hole. I take the first arrow and shoot. Nope, not a hit. Another one. This time I am closer. I remember what Michael thought me before. I stay straight and take a deep breath, this time my arm and the bow are straight as well, not shaking at all. I focus on the hole and shoot the arrow. And I did it. "Yes!" I laugh.

I nod. Good. I cross my arms. The rest of this lesson is yours to choose what you do or what I teach you. You tell me what you want to do.

"Oh, I don't know! What do think would be the best? I mean I don't really know..."
I sit down. "What do you think about finishing this training session and going to the Grill. It's on me."

I can't help but chuckle. Sure you're not tired of me?

"Nope, I'm tired of being in my apartment and looking at the weapons. So, let's go." I take my backpack and put my crossbow in it.

I smirk and pack my bag up. I leave a dagger in my belt though. Be aware, Drill Sergeant Michael is different than drunk Mic. I grin.

I can't help it, I must giggle. "I'm sure I'll be fine." I sigh and start walking towards the direction that would lead us to the Grill.

As we reach the grill I pop the trunk on my car and put my weapons in the car. I motion for her to do the same. Leave work behind.

I smile. "With pleasure", I reply and throw it in the trunk. I walk to the entry and open the door. This time the Grill is almost full. We directly go to the bar.

I take a seat next to her and order a bottle of whiskey and two shot glasses. I pour one for both of us and raise my glass in a silent toast before downing my glass.

I drink the vodka and rest my chin on my fist. "You know what? I think it's way more difficult to hunt those creatures than being one. I mean, all this preparation for staying alive while you try to catch them." I sigh.

I raise my eyebrows. You'd be surprised. An eternity is a long time to live. They don't choose to be vampires or whatever else, we choose to be hunters in most cases. I pause and decide to share something personal. My sister certainly didn't have a choice.

"What do you mean with that?" I say looking at him. "What happened to your sister?" I don't want to be nosey, but I have to know it. Something went really wrong with her.

I pour myself another shot and toss it back. She was attacked and forced to turn. Haven't seen her in ten, fifteen years. She didn't deserve the life she got. That's why I'm selective on who I kill. Not all supernaturals are monsters.

"I'm sorry, Michael. That must be hard for both of you." I drink another shot. "I want to control myself as well. I mean, alright. This is a town full of supernaturals. But there are some people that as you said don't deserve to die. And I want to make friends here. I want to be normal, although this situation is not normal at all."
