Hello, stranger!? (Victoria & James)

I was sitting on a bench, reading the papers that were left from my dad. All the documents about different mythical things... It was confusing. Being a hunter was confusing.
I'm biting on my bottom lip as I study his handwriting.

There I was, walking in the park as my hands were deep in my pockets. My eyes were in a tight glare as I was looking own at the ground. Last night was one of the toughest nights I had to go through. A vampire tried to kill me and I killed the bastard, but the bastard bit me. Good thing I always carry some of my weapons with me. That was when I sighed at that moment

I was so concentrated on the documents, I didn't realize that somebody sat next to me. At first I didn't even look up and started putting my things together. I mean that stuff was secret... I cleared my throat and looked up.

My ears picked up on someone clearing their throat as my blue eyes then looked over at the gorgeous girl besides me. "Am I bothering you?" I asked in a calm voice as I was hiding the bite mark that was on my neck. That bastard of a vampire got me good last night, but I was not going to stop form one simple bite.

I look at the very good looking guy sitting next to me and have to smile. "No, not at all. I'm sorry. I was just.." I stop speaking. He is definitely not a vampire, that's for sure. I can feel myself being more relaxed. There are still some humans around here!

She was not a vampire at all. If a vampire was near me, then it would of attacked me by now. "So what is your name?" My smile was warm and gentle to the human who sat besides me. I knew that I could not get close to her as I did not want any of the creatures of the night to go and stalk this beautiful girl who was now talking to me.

"My name is Victoria. And you are...?", I replied, looking into his blue eyes. I smile a little bit and feel that my cheeks blush.
I also think about what's happening right now. I'm a hunter and he is a human. I slightly look down on my wrist to that tattoo and hide it. Even though just other hunters can see it... I just want to make sure.

My eyes looked into her's as he then replied, "My name is James." My smile stayed warm. "So tell me why you are out here late at night? It gets dangerous out here during the nighttime you know."

Believe me I could defend myself, I think but he doesn't know that. "I was so concentrated in all this paperwork, I didn't even realize that it's late now." I smile back at James. "What are you doing here then?"

I did not want to say anything about it. I was actually here to finish some business with the vampire who went after me and attacked me. I was going to get him after what he had done to me. "I was taking a walk to clear my mind." That was a bit of a lie actually."

I nod. "It's a beautiful night." I look up and see the stars and the full moon. No clouds anywhere. I sigh and look back to him. "Are you new in town James?" I ask and cross my legs. I want to know more about this gods looking stranger. He seems nice but I can feel that there is something more.

A chuckle left from my lips as I then looked down at the young girl besides me. "I have lived here for a while actually. With my little sister, but she is now gone for a while." I then smiled some more as I then chuckled a bit at that moment. "And what about you Victoria? Would you like me to call you Victoria or would you like me to call you Vic?"

"Vic is totally fine", I reply and nod. "And you? Any nickname that I could use?"
I think James is nice. And if you live in this town, you will probably see the people very often, so it's good to be nice. I smile at him

A chuckle escaped from my lips as I then said, "Call me whatever you want to." He kissed her head as he then looked out in the distance and saw the vampire from the night before. His body tensed up a bit as he then said, "You must be off now. Would you like me to escort you home tonight?"

"That would be very nice. By the way, I think I will call you Jay from now on." I smile and look at him as we both stand up and start walking up the street.
I don't know why but somehow I feel like I know James for a very long time. He doesn't seem like a stranger to me at all. My heart beat is racing and I try to look somewhere else to organize my thoughts and feelings.
Suddenly I see a very fast moving figure at the other side of the street: A vampire. He looks directly at us. Before I do or even think of attacking the vampire, I remember the thinks I know now. Not everyone should be killed...
Maybe this one is harmless and wanders around like you both
No, this time I have a bad feeling. He looks aggressive and very hungry. I look back to James. He is not nervous at all, he is the completely opposite. He looks calm.
Okay, if this supernatural will attack us, I will not hesitate to fight back. Even if that means that James would know that I am a hunter.

My eyes flashed to the vampire as I then grabbed my gun with my one free hand. The vampire was ready to come after us. "How about you go into that general store, Vic." At that moment, my eyes were in a glare as the vampire took another step closer. My eyes looked away as I noticed that no one else was on the street, so then I pulled out my gun with wooden bullets and held it in front of Victoria and myself.

"You're a hunter?" I say as I see the special gun he is holding. I don't know if I am relieved or shocked. I guess it's both. He shoots at the vampire while I take out my crossbow, just in case. "Just so you know, I'm one too."

James smirked a bit as he then said, "At least I will have someone helping me now." He shot the vampire again, right in the heart. The creature of the night screamed in pure pain as it fell to the ground right then.

I look at James and then back to the vampire. I can't believe that he is a hunter as well. "Why did I never saw you around here? I mean I'm still quite new here but I probably saw most of the faces. But I never saw yours." I smile for a moment and put my crossbow back in me bag

I then picked up the dad vampire as I stated, "You probably have never seen me because I am always on a hunt. This is my first night that I was going to have a mini vacation,"I then laughed a bit, "but you see how that went for me." My blue eyes looked at the gorgeous blonde as he then smiled some more.

"Well then you are probably a better hunter then me. I was not really successful after I came here. But never mind." I clear my throat and look to the vampire. "What should we do with him now?" I ask and point to the dead body.

I then indicated for her to follow me as I started to walk towards the woods. "The only thing you can do to a dead vampire. We burn him." My blue eyes looked down at her to make sure she was following my every move. "How long have you been a hunter, Victoria?" I asked her to keep up the conversation.

"I'm new in all this" I replied and looked back to James. "I'm actually really new. But I try my best to get better." I followed him into the forest where we threw the body on the ground and i took out a tiny box with matches. "Do you have alcohol or anything else with you?"

I was a head of her as I was pouring alcohol all over the dead body. My blue eyes looked at her as I then smiled a bit at the gorgeous girl. Maybe I could ask her out to drink some night as she seemed to be a wonderful lady. "Already ahead of you. I will give you the honor of burning the pour bastard." I chuckled a bit as I then stood besides the young female hunter as I placed one hand onto her small back, rubbing it a bit.

I looked at him when I felt his hand on my back. I smiled and turned back to the body, but I could feel my heart beat faster. I could feel the adrenaline in my blood rising.
I took a match and threw it on the body. Immediately the vampire body was on fire. I took a deep breath and looked back to James. "Thats done."
