A calm quiet day

After Ravyn flew Kol into a wall I let go of Selene and she ran over to help him. Ravyn was in my face already and slammed her daylight ring on the table next to me. Before I could say anything she disappeared from sight and then left the house not even taking a glance at her daughter. I looked down and grabbed her daylight ring. Ravyn Daniels, my closest friend, has turned off her emotions and whos know for how long. I could hear silent tears come from her daughter as she helped Kol.

Elijah had yelled right in my ear but I wasn't worried about that, I was worried about Kol. After she threw him into the wall I ran over to him making sure he was okay. I could hear my mother talking to Elijah and then leaving the house. She didn't even look at me. Elijah picked up her ring and he looked devasteted. I turned back to Kol to help him. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. Its my fault all my fault. I'm sorry Kol." I told him as tears fell down my face. All I wanted was my mother and the man I fell in love with back. Thats all I wanted.

I froze when I saw Ravyn's eyes. They were empty and emotionless. Suddenly I was thrown across the room and my body crashed through a wall. I heard her speak to Elijah then she was gone. This was not going to be good, not at all. I slowly started to get up as Selene came over to help me. I accepted her help and started brushing myself off. I picked splinters of wood out of my left arm and then brushed the dry wall out of my hair.

I grabbed Selene and hugged her close to me. I ran my hand through her hair to try and calm her down. "Selene it's not your fault, none of this was your fault. It was mine, I forced her to turn off her emotions." I held her tighter, this was the second time in my life as a vampire that I felt extreme amounts of guilt. The first time was when I wasn't there to help Selene when her betrothed was trying to kill her and when I couldn't help her through her transition.

I looked over to my brother, he looked shell-shocked. He was also holding something. "Elijah what are you holding?" Dread started creeping up my spine. Something was telling me that something was extremely wrong. That we'd lose a friend and Selene would lose her mother again. I swallowed the lump in my throat as I waited for Elijah to answer me.

Kol pulled me close to him and told me it wasn't my fault. I nodded but I knew better, it was because of me my mother turned her emotions off, I started all of this.When he ran his fingers through my hair and held me tight I fell into his touch, the feeling made me feel safe like it did when I was human and he was near me. I think I'll always feel safe with him.

All I wanted was my mother and she blew up. I thought she'd be happy to see her daughter. I looked up at Kol when he asked Elijah what he had, I turned my head and saw the stainless blue staring back at me. "Oh no."

I stood there staring at the ring in my hand, still not believing what has happend. I could hear Kol and Selene comfort each other but once Kol asked what I was holding I knew Selene had heard too. I looked up to see them, Kol was holding onto her and she was trying to calm down. Both knew what this was but for some reason it had to be said so it was confirmed. "Its Ravyn's daylight ring."

I held on to Selene I feared that she'd break down or I'd lose it and start smashing things. "What?" I breathed out silently, not believing what my brother just said. I was trying to keep my composure for Selene's sake. I knew what Ravyn was like when she turned off her emotions. She was a psychotic killer that didn't give a damn when she hurt someone. She turned into the complete opposite of what she was normally like. I had to leave and find her, before the bodies start to pile up fast.

I cleared my throat before I spoke. "Elijah,can I trust you to keep Selene safe? I'll leave tomorrow to look for Ravyn. I'm hoping that she'll be..." I broke off not wanting to upset Selene further. "That I can bring her home before she goes on a killing spree."

Kol was shocked when he heard his brother Elijah confirm what it wa he was holding and what ran through my mind is Kol would be here to help me get through this but instead he asked Elijah if he could keep me safe so he could look for my mother. "What? Kol no, let me go with you. Shes my mother." I pleaded. I didn't want him to leave me here alone after I just got him back and I didn't know his brother very well.

I looked at Selene as she pleaded to go with me. "Selene, I will not risk your life by taking you with me." I said sternly, to her. I didn't want to hurt her feelings, but I needed to keep her safe. "This isn't the first time she's turned off her emotions, she's more dangerous then you could even imagine." I looked over to my brother. "Elijah is the best person, I could possibly have look after you. He is a man of his word." I leaned in and kissed Selene's head then whispered. "Besides if your mother tries to kill me she can't!" I said in a cocky tone.

I tried to smile at Kol's attempt to make me feel better about him leaving but it didn't work. "That doesn't make it better. I want to be with you and she is my mother. I have to be there for her." I told him. I leaned in like he did but I was sure Elijah could hear me. "Plus I don't know your brother that well." I said innocently. I didn't have a problem with Elijah its just I didn't want to be taken care of.

Man, she's only been back in my life for a day and I'm already having trouble with telling her no. I let out a giant sigh. "Fine Selene I'll take you with but when I tell you something, you must do it. Do you understand?" I leaned into her ear. "You'll get to know Elijah, and he's the only one I'd trust with your safety." I then leaned back and kissed the top of her head.

I smiled as Kol kissed my forehead and said I could go with him. "Thank you so much Kol! I promise I'll listen." I said. I had become independent during the time I was alone but this was my mother and Kol, two people I've loved most in the world. "I'd like to get to know Elijah, he just....makes me nervous." I told him quietly. Elijah was just way to quiet and it scared me how, chilled out, he was.

I curled my lip up on the one side, in a weird smile. Elijah made her nervous, that was actually funny. I couldn't help myself, I just started laughing. As the laughter subsided as fast as it came. "Don't worry Selene he makes a lot of people nervous." I smiled at her then turned a serious gaze to my brother. "Elijah call your contacts, give them my number and have them scouting for Ravyn. As soon as we get a lead we are going to get her and bring her back." I said while thinking, we'll bring her back if she's alive. I didn't say it out loud because I didn't want to upset Selene.

I completely ignored Selene and Kol as they talked. I played with Ravyn's ring in my hands as I thought that I had lost my friend, I've been around a very long time and if I had to chose Ravyn was the closest of them all. I heard as Selene said I made her nervous and Kol's laughing but I really listened as he told me to notify my contacts. "Kol you know all my contacts are in Europe, the ones here are the ones I used to find Katerina and they are a pain to handle." I told him. I had contacts but they were all like dealing with Damon.

I snarled at my brother as I moved away from Selene. "Do you want to find are friend, alive? Or would you rather wait till she slaughters innocent lives since you're the one that's all into saving human life." I got closer to my brother. "You know all those time Nik staked me and locked me in that damn box. I didn't kill half the people he thought I did over the centuries. I covered for our friend, I covered for her for our sisters sake. I took the blame every time that woman flipped her switch just to keep Nik from ripping out her heart. Which you know damn well he just needs a reason to do so." I stopped about a foot away from Elijah. "Tell you're contacts to do as they are told or I will personally shred them to pieces." I was beyond pissed, but it wasn't anybodies fault but my own. I wasn't going to admit it but I need help bringing Ravyn back home.

I watched as Kol walked toward me. He told me that it was him who covered for Ravyn and wasn't him that killed all those people. I had a hard time believeing it, I didn't think Ravyn was capable of such bloodshed and hunger but Kol was, thinking about it though he and Ravyn had a strong bond and would do anything for each other. Closing the space between us I looked down at Kol. "If what you say is true then you listen here." I said. "First off, you do not speak to me in such a way as if I am your little dog. I do not listen to you Kol, you don't tell me how I should find my friend. Secondly if we do this we does my way. There is no hunting people down and killing them, we find here by tracking. Do I make myself clear?" I said looking down at him.

"We agree." I said getting between Elijah and Kol before Kol could say anything and the situation escalated. I knew Kol and he would have said something that would have caused him and Elijah to fight and it would take up the time to find my mother. I looked up at Elijah nervously. "We agree to you terms." I said and then looked back at Kol. "Don't we." I said to him not bothering to make it a question. I kept from making eye contact with Elijah because for that split second I felt tremondous fear. He seemed nice but he put me on edge.

I growled as Elijah said if we do it we do it his way. This was going to take too long, the damage with be done. Selene stepped in between us. She told Elijah that we agree to his terms. I wasn't too happy about it. I glared at my brother before saying yes. Then I turned away from both of them. "Selene stay here." I demanded, it wasn't a request. I needed to cool off and I wanted to search the woods, for any bodies. Ravyn has a tendency to work fast. I was just leaving through the doorway to the library when I turned back to them. "You might want to work fast brother, because if she kills a child again. Then turns on her emotions, I don't want to be the one to take care of her. The guttural, ear splitting screams of despair that come from her when she realizes what she's done is enough to make me want to put myself out of the misery." I looked over at Selene. "I'll be back in a few minutes I just want to check the perimeter of the town." Was all I said before I sped out of the house on the search for Ravyn's first victims.

Selene had stepped between us and told me they agreed to terms and Kol agreed. It surprised how well he took her side, he must love this girl or have a strong bond. Kol had said he was going to check the town's perimeter leaving Selene with me. I could tell she feared me and it did not bother me one bit. "I will be making some calls so we can get a trace started so please make yourself at home." I told her. I pulled out my phone and began to scroll through the numbers looking to see which would be the best help.

When Kol spoke of how my mother felt after she realized what she had done when she turned off her emotions I felt scared and sad and mad me want to find my mother more. When Kol had told me to stay here as he checked the town's perimeter and left I stood frozen in my spot, he knows Elijah makes me feel nervous. I turned around when the older Orginal spoke to me and nodded, as he got his phone out I spoke. "Thank you Elijah, for um helping find m-my mother a-and being her friend." I told him. I don't know why I felt the way I did around him but I did. He didn't seem to care much though.

I looked up from my phone as Selene spoke. I nodded when she had thanked me for helping her and being a friend to her mother. "I will bring your mother back Selene, and I promise you will be reunited with her. She has looked for you for centuries." I told her. Ravyn had always talked of her daughter so it surprised that she was so affected by seeing her that she switched her emotions off.

I nodded. "Thank you." I said to him. He gave another nod but it was quick, he then had his phone up to his ear and left the room. I shrank into a nearby chair and put my head in my hands. I let silent tears fall as I thought about my mother and that it was my fault she was doing this. My fault that Kol and Elijah were worried about her.

I made my way around town and then through the woods. I finally stumbled upon the sight I dreaded to see. Body parts were thrown about. And tongues cut from their mouths. One victim was female and the other was male. There wasn't as much blood as there should be, which means they were drained before they were ripped apart. Ravyn's scent lingered in the air. I pulled my cell phone from my pocket. I took multiple pictures and sent them to my brother with a message.

Believe me now? Here's proof, it's already started. Don't show these to Selene. I'll be home in a few.

I took off to finish checking the area, then I headed home.

I took the phone from my ear irritated. Every single contact I had wouldn't help me because I had now owed them from the last time when I asked them to help me track Katerina. Taking a breath to calm my irritation my phone vibrarted with a picture message, I looked to see it was Kol. He sent me many pictures of the bodies he found that Ravyn had left behind. Their bodies were drained and limp and I looked at it in horror that my good friend had done sucha thing. Kol told me not to show them to Selene and I didn't. I went back to calling contacts and wait for Kol to get back home.

Just as I finished searching and coming up empty handed I headed back to the bodies. I ended up looking for anything that would be used against Ravyn, and ended up getting blood on my clothes. It wasn't much but it still irritated me to no avail. I found nothing left behind from her and I made sure not to leave anything behind. I was going to track her but it started to downpour I left. I sped back to the house.

I yanked open the door and slammed it shut. "Dammit!" I groaned loudly. I was soaked from head to toe. I really hoped that my brother had some good news.

I heard Kol come back from scouting the perimiter so I stood up and wiped away my tears and hoped my face didn't give away I was crying. I followed the sound of his cursing and went to the front door. I saw he was extremely upset and soaked, and I saw the blood that was stained on him but trying to be washed away. "Oh my gosh what happened?" I asked Kol as i walked up to him and then looked at his shirt. "Are you alright?" I asked examing him.
