| Irene was once again strolling through the forest, enjoying the calm ambience. It was hard to get something like that in the city, even a city as small as Mystic Falls, so those moments in the forest were precious to her. They offered Irene something she had hardly got ever since the cities began to become larger and noisier. She really missed times when the most common means of transportation were carriages.
With a small sigh, she leaned against a tree and closed her eyes, just enjoying the peace and quiet. | |

| The sun was bright, peaking through the tall tree tops and shining onto the ground. Scarlet wandered through the forest, being new in town she had to get a feel for the area. And since she would end up spending quite a bit of time in the forest, why not start there. Scarlet hadn't eaten in a while, actually over a day. She was weaker than normal, but knew she couldn't just show up in town and start sucking blood from people. She had to blend in, and had to become trusted. Slowly she walked, her eyes scanning the area carefully. No other people, no animals, no heartbeats. She was good. It had been a long couple day, and it was nice to just relax for a moment.
Scarlet went and sat on a rather large rock, laying down and enjoying the warmth of the sun. Some days, she missed being so warm. But normally she didn't. "It's too bright.."She said softly to herself, squinting up to the sun. |

| The sound of someone's voice took Irene out of her meditative state. It was strange for someone to be there at such time. The forest was usually empty and, when it was occupied, it was night. Teenagers often enjoyed spending nights there playing truth or dare or other games.
Suspiciously, Irene started walking towards the owner of the voice, all her senses on full alert. But she really hadn't expected to see who she saw. Even though she wasn't Mystic Fall's oldest resident, she could recognize most people, and she really didn't remember ever seeing that girl there.
"Who are you?" She asked the girl. | |
