Road Trip to nowhere (Lucas & Victoria)

My eyes flutter open when the sun crosses through the room and look around to fully wake up. I stretch my arms and yawn silently. I feel like I slept for days. I turn around to Luke and gently kiss his lips, before going o the bathroom. I look into the mirror for a while. My long hair looks very healthy, it almost glows and my emerald green eyes blink a few times as I look at myself. I wash my face and sigh. I just have a white shirt and my black underpants on. We decided to do something. Drive somewhere. Anywhere. I smile and take a towel in my hands.

My eyes flutter open at her touch and I watch as she cleans herself up. I drag myself out of bed and pull on a pair of shorts and a black T-shirt. I walk into the bathroom and wrap my arms around her from behind. I kiss her neck before stepping to the other sink. I brush my teeth and run a hand through my hair. That's sufficient styling enough. Victoria likes it this way anyway. I pull on shoes and walk to the dresser. I tuck my wallet and keys into my pockets and put my Ray Bans on top of my head before sitting on the bed and waiting for Victoria to finish getting ready.

After getting dressed in a blue tank top and jeans, I grab my sun glasses and my backpack and look to Lucas. Ready to go?
I grab my phone and a bottle of water, while I'm slowly walking to the door. I wonder how this trip will go.

I take her backpack from her and open the door for her. I close it behind us and toss her bag in the backseat of the car. I open the passenger seat for her before walking around to the driver's seat. I open the back door and whistle. Zeus barks from afar and comes running. He jumps in the back and I close the door behind him. He immediately lies down on the seat and closes his eyes. I get in the car and start it up. I rest a hand on Victoria's thigh as we start driving god knows where.

Any idea what direction we should go? I ask and look around. We didn't plan anything at all, but somehow we need to start figuring out something. We took a tent as well, just in case, and we also have our money with us. The only thing that's missing is a plan. Hmm..
I lean against the passenger seat and look out of the window. It's a very hot and sunny day, pretty unusual for Mystic Falls.

I look at her and a small smile plays on my lips. North. I say simply. I entwine my fingers in hers and run my thumb over her knuckle.

Alright, let's drive north then I say and smile back at him. I turn on the radio and breath in. Freedom is such a wonderful thing. My muscles and my mind are relaxed, relived and not focused on negative things at all.

I glance over at her and laugh shake my head softly. Yes ma'am. We're free. It's just us, and Zeus, but we're free. No people to tell us differently. we have each other and that's all that will ever matter.

Any idea where we will stay tonight? Or do we just stay in the car? I look on the back seat where Zeus is already sleeping and smile. I can see the sign that says that we left Mystic Fall and breath out. I take Luke's hand in mine and entwine my fingers with his.

I look at her and shrug my shoulders. Depends on where we end up. I chuckle as Ellie Goulding's "Anything Can Happen" plays on the radio. Anything can happen. I say teasingly.

I roll my eyes and turn the music louder. He is right. Anything can happen.

We drive a long way as we stop at a motel near the road, and in the middle of nowhere. Zeus has to be taken out and we need to go to the bathroom as well. Time for a break I sitting and driving. I open the passengers door and jump put whole looking around. I'll be right back, I need to use the restroom, I tell Luke and slowly walk to the entrance door of the motel. It's dusty and seems pretty old. I wonder who would like to spend their time here. Hello? Anybody here? I just... Need to use the restroom!

I let Zeus out of the car and he runs in a few circles before running off wherever. He's obedient; all I have to do is whistle and he'll come running. I walk into the motel after Victoria and lay a hand on the small of her back. Creepy place. I say and look around.

I nod slowly while looking around the old lobby. Everything is left in dust and dirt, most of the furniture broken and not used any longer. I doubt that the toilets look any different. And I have to admit, I don't like this place. you know what? I can use a bathroom somewhere else. Let us just leave. I don't think the toilets are still working if nobody is here.

I nod and whistle for Zeus. I hear rapid barking from a motel room. Damn it Zeus. Stay behind me. I take my Jericho out of my waistband and walk slowly towards the sound of my dog. I approach the hotel room and find the door cracked. I take a breath before pushing it open. I barely have time to scan the room before I dodge a bullet and push Victoria into the bathroom in the motel room. I crack the motel bathroom door and stand behind it. A few more gunshots ring out from the inside and I look at Victoria. Stand in the shower. It's the most bullet proof place in here. I look at her and my eyes dare her to argue.

Without complaining I just nod silently this time and step in the bath tub and sit. I can see Luke leaving the room as I hear Zeus barking again. I have no idea what is going on.

I blur out of the bathroom and shoot both men in the head. They collapse but they'e not dead. They're in orange jump suits. I'm technically registered for being a policemen so I'll have some fun. I yell for Victoria to come out. I pick each one up and sit them in chairs; I tie their hands behind their backs and around the chair so they can't move. I sit on the bed and raise a finger at Zeus. He calms. I look outside as the sun goes down. I turn on a single lamp. Vampires; they'll wake soon enough. Interrogation time.

I jump out of the bath tub and walk out of the bathroom. I cross my arms and look from Luke back to the men, sitting in chairs. And I was dumb enough to believe that we would have time just for us. Uhm, okay. Who are those guys. They are vampires, that's for sure. I raise an eyebrow and look I them.

I set my Jericho on the bed and pull her into my lap. We still have time for us. This isn't my fight. I kiss her before pulling my phone out and dialing the police. This is Colonel Lucas Reid. My girlfriend and I stopped at this motel to use the restroom and my dog found these escaped convicts. Two dead bodies; I currently have them knocked out, yes. Yep. Alright thanks. I hang up and look at Victoria.

As he turns off his phone I look to the men and back to Luke while I wrap an arm aroun his shoulder. Okay what next? I think next time we could stop somewhere that we know that people are in there. I stroke his hair and put his phone away in my pocket.

I stand and chuckle. We get out of here. She raises an eyebrow. I put my gun in my waistband and entwine my fingers in hers. I motion to Zeus and he jumps out of the window and hops back in the car. I told you; I'm yours now. The government doesn't owe me anymore. I've done my part. I peck her lips and help her up out of the window. We walk back to the car and I open the door for her before climbing in on my side. I entwine my fingers in Victoria's and start us driving down the main road again.

I'm glad that we leave the place and run a hand through my long hair. I have no idea where we go now rather than what we would do. Luke. What now. I hope we don't get interrupted again I sigh and bend to him while he's driving and kiss him.

I glance at the road before kissing her back lovingly. After a few minutes of kissing I pull back and turn back to the road, but I leave an arm wrapped around her shoulders as she leans into me. We'll see where this road takes us. I glance at her and peck her temple before turning my attention to the road again.

I pull back and sigh while I look out of the window and wonder where we will end up. We drive a long time as we come through a little town that seems like mystic Falls. I am pretty impatient. But this trip should train my patience a little more, because we don't know where we will go. Can we open up the windows? I'm getting hot I say to Luke and lean back.

I nod and open the window with the control on my side. Tell me if you see someplace you want to stop at. I say as we start passing buildings in a little farm-like country town.

I look around and watch us passing some stores ad buildings as I see a tiny Cafe near the street. It looks pretty nice and small. Intimate. Luke, let us stop here. I'm thirsty and I still have to use the restroom. we stop and I open my door, go to Luke and walk together with him inside. I'll be right back I say and kiss him shortly before going to the bathroom. After I'm done I wash my hands and look to the mirror. Oh wow, I say and have to hold onto the sink. I clear my throat and look to the mirror. I look like always but I feel like I would throw up. Damn it, I whisper and look to the ceiling. I have the same feeling I had when I was dying. It disappears after a hole and I put a hand on my stomach, swallow and try to smile in the mirror. I take a deep breath and leave the restroom.
