Rootless (Victoria/Open with permission)

I nod and let me lead back to the car. I don't know what I feel. Numbness probably. Or the shock of losing my father again.

I sit her in the car and climb in on my side. I turn on the heat and drive us back to the house. I get out and open the door for her. I lead us inside and pick her up. I carry her upstairs and set her on the bed. I pour her a cup of bourbon and hand it to her before climbing in next to her.

"Thank you", I say and take a sip of the bourbon and put it away. I don't feel like drinking. I lie down and close my eyes. I pull Luke down to me as well.

I let her pull me down. She rolls on top of me and lies on top of me. I kiss her forehead as she lays her head on my chest.

We don't move for a while and just rest in that position. I kiss his lips and look down to him. I'm just happy he us here.

I look at her. I'm sorry about your father. I'm glad you saw him though. I say softly.

I nod. "You found him and gave me this opportunity, Luke. Without you I guess I would still live in a lie, that protected me all these years and left me in grief." I kiss him

I kiss her again and nod. I wanted you to have closure. I say softly.

"Yes I think it's best to move on. I can't be sad and depressed forever." I smile softly and sit on the bed, lookin at Luke. "You're my hero", I say smiling.

I chuckle. And you're mine. OUr situation's different from most. We saved each other from ourselves. We pulled each other out of the darkness, and now we're never letting go.

"I think we managed to change our lives to the good. I'm glad that's behind us. All that drama I mean." I feel relieved ad I wonder how Luke feels about all that happened.

I nod and kiss her. You have no idea how glad I am it's all over. Should be smooth sailing from here, or at least semi-calm. I chuckle

I laugh and roll my eyes. "Sure, why not?" I grin at him and kiss his neck while I breath his smell in. Now we have time to be happy rather than always being disrupted by sad and depressing things.
