Temptation (Katherine and Luke)

I get off of my Ducati Monster 796 and walk inside the bar. I look around and am greeted by unfamiliar faces. I look at the sign. Welcome to Charlotte, North Carolina's finest bar I can't think of a better place to be right now than as far away from Mystic Falls as possible. I need some fresh air. I take a seat on a bar stool, ordering a Jack. I take a long swallow and set my glass down before glancing at the television. Some meaningless football game is on. I scan the bar. No supernaturals here, at least not yet. This could be a long night.

I look to my left to see a pretty brunette flipping her hair. I've heard it, but I don't like to follow the rules. I giver her my signature Reid smirk. She's gorgeous; flawless really. Perfect figure, perfect face, perfect eyes. Perfect attitude; she's perfect. Besides, no one in here's been worth talking to. At least not yet. After everything that's been going on with Kendall, I could use a break. She's been treating me like crap so why not, I could use some fun.

I give a small smile. Let me say that again. No one's been worth talking to yet. You're already changing that. She's already got my interest. She's funny, gorgeous, and she doesn't seem to care about anyone's opinion of her. My idea of a fun person to hang out with. I extend my hand. I'm Lucas.

I smile. I know who she is. Stefan told me. Only I have a different opinion of Katherine than everyone else; I like her. Christina? Really? I laugh. Do you normally lie to people about your name? I know who you are, Miss. Katerina Pierce. Katherine to most people. At her look of surprise I continue. I had the great pleasure of meeting Stefan Salvatore. I'm pretty sure he was drunk because he started telling me about his whole past. A large portion of his past involved you. I take a sip of my drink. He didn't seem to like you very much, but I just think you're misunderstood. I think you're an incredibly beautiful woman who knows exactly what she wants, and you do whatever you can do get it. I can admire that kind of-ambition. I smile

I chuckle before searching her eyes. I think deep down, no matter what you tell other people. You want to be happy. You want to be loved by a man that will love you and be loyal to you, but will give you your freedom. You want a life of adventure and danger, but you want something permanent. You want something to be there, so that you always know you have something to come back to. I prepare for the slap that will come. Knowing what I know about Katherine, I'm expecting a "you don't know me you ass." But hey, she asked, so I gave her my answer. Contrary to what most people think of Katherine, I like her and I'd like to be her friend. I don't want to hurt her or use her.

I smirk. You asked. You would've been equally pissed if I'd said "I don't know." I take a sip of my drink. Katherine, I know it scares the hell out of you to trust anyone, but you don't have to do this "badass" thing in front of me. First of all, it doesn't make me want to leave you alone. Secondly, it's unnecessary because I have no intentions of hurting you and thirdly it's just not necessary. I genuinely like you Katherine. I shake my head. I know what it feels like, the way you feel. I put on a badass attitude for just about everyone but it gets exhausting, Katherine. Take a break. I point to the bar. Loosen up, have a drink. We're in no-name town and there are literally no supernaturals here. I've checked. You can relax. I really am not trying to get in her head. I genuinely like her. I want to be her friend. She's funny and really is a nice person if you don't piss her off. I want to be one of those people that gets to actually know her real name. Part of me wishes she'd extend her hand, all facades dropped and re-introduce herself.

I smirk. Yeah, Katherine, the badass thing is you, but it's not all of you. I shake my head and down my drink, deciding to drop trying to get her to get off her high horse. What're you doing here, anyway? Before you say, drinking, you know what I mean. What're you doing in this no name town? I'm tired of trying to convince her to talk to me. Now, I just will talk.

I shake my head. Annoying brother problems, and same as you, people that think they know me, when in reality, no one knows me and no one ever will. When it all comes down to it, alcohol is the best medicine. I take a sip of my drink. Plus, Mystic Falls is just kinda overrated. All this crap over one girl. Honestly Elena seems amazingly average. . I smirk. I know Katherine and I at least agree on that.

I raise my eyebrows. Alright. I take a sip of my drink. Question game. You ask, I ask. You start. I take a long gulp of my jack, preparing myswelf for a quesation that I won't want to answer about my past.
