Poppy wasn't a health nut, but after living in towns that had nothing but a post office and small general store, she'd picked up a habit of going on jogs to pass the time. Lydia wasn't really strict and rarely ever stopped Poppy from leaving the house, no matter the time of day or night, and night was when Poppy enjoyed going for runs.
Tonight turned out to be a great night for a run, so after some rummaging around her room, she slipped into the proper attire and made her way towards the forest. The moon was big and bright tonight, it almost looked like something out of a painting. It was sort of eerie and Poppy caught herself glancing up at it every few seconds. Shaking the weird feeling she was getting from it, she slowed her pace and allowed herself to take in her surroundings. It was a breathtaking sight and she eventually slowed to a stop and rested against a tree. The air was quiet, but not silent, she could hear owls and crickets echoing through the night. Pulling a bottle out of her backpack she took a long drink and let out a sigh. There was just something about the night that made things that much more real.
"Well hello there little one." She smiled as a little bunny hopped less then 3 feet from her. "You seem a little small to be out on your own. Where's your family?" She continued talking to the small animal, not caring how daft she probably looked. The bunny twitched it's whiskers and just stared back. Poppy reached out to pet it, just as a twig snapped nearby. The bunny hurried off and Poppy's head snapped in the direction of the noise. Her heart was beating faster than normal as she scrambled up. "H-hello? Who's there?" She tried but failed at masking the shakiness in her voice.
