The Girl Who Was Saved By A Vampire (Alex & Erin)

Erin was sitting on a near by bench in the park as she was reading her assigned reading for her advance English class. She was reading Romeo and Juliet. She could not help but to think of Alex as she sat there, all alone, on that cold bench. She could not help but to also think of his dark, very dark, brown eyes that seemed to call her in to him. She had no clue as to how he could do this without even trying. Erin then begun to blush and hid her face into her book, once more.

Alex had a smile plastered on his face. After walking Erin home, Alex wanted to stay near her home though it would be a problem since he had other things to do rather than following a teenager. If vampires ever fell in love with a human which was usually younger than them, could it be considered as pedophilia? Well, Alex wasn't going to commit the same mistake of falling in love again. As soon as he arrived at the park, he quickly saw Erin who was reading a copy of Romeo and Juliet. He walked stealthily behind her and tried to cover her eyes. "Guess who it is." He said with an American accent so that it won't be that obvious.

Erin jumped as he eyes were covered. Her heart started pounding a bit as she did not recognize the voice at first. With a bite of her lip, Erin then stuttered out in fear, "A-Alex?" She was hoping she was right. She did not want anyone else to be this close to her, besides Alex of course. He was the only exception about who could be this close to her. Her fingers then touched his hands as she was hoping she was right on guessing who it was.

Alex slight smirk became visible on his face upon hearing Erin's heartbeat. It was fast and loud(for him) like the victims he had, most importantly it excites him. As she guessed correctly, Alex slowly removed his hands so that Erin could see again. Her touch reminded him that she's fragile and that he had to be careful around her. Who knows what might happen in the future? "How did you know?"He asked as he sat down beside her. "For English class?"He gestured towards the book. Not all people were into classics and probably most teenagers were reading it because of school.

Erin then hugged Alex slightly as he sat besides her. Her face buried in the crock of his neck as she then looked at her book. "Well, it is assigned for my Advance English class, but here is a secret about me. I love Classics and would read them all day if I could, but people would make fun of me for enjoying such classics in my free time."

Alex chuckled a bit still finding Erin as the little girl whom he saved a decade ago. It made him feel good, if he didn't save her from the fire then the girl before him would cease to exist. Despite liking the present, Alex still liked the classical music and books. It would be something that may not change about him. "Their ignorance should be ignored. Those books wouldn't last for a very long time if it wasn't that good." He stated. Teenagers surely had changed through the years. "If you really loved Classics perhaps I could lend you some of my classical books. I think my great great grandfather had a first version of Don Quixote."When he said great grandfather, he was just referring to himself.

Erin's smile increased as he said this to her. Where they really connecting through classical books that some people found boring? Why yes they were. She was thrilled that they now had something else to add on to conversations they could have about in the future and have at least something they both had in common. A reason to bring them closer, she thought. A reason they could be very close friends. Maybe closer... she thought to herself as she blushed brightly. "I would like that a lot Alex." she whispered up to him.

"Since you said that you'd teach me how to play the piano, maybe go to my house and see if there's any book into your liking. I'd love to share my family's collection rather than keep it to ourselves."He said being generous. The classic books may bring them closer which Alex definitely liked. Maybe acting like a creepy stalker wouldn't be necessary at all. Seeing Erin blushed again made him proud. He would really like Erin to be around since she was really good at making his ego happy.

Erin smiled and nodded as she then laid down onto his arm as she then whispered in her very shy and calm voice, "That would be amazing Alex. I would love to come to your house and borrow some books. Do you have a piano in your house or do we have to go to my house and play my piano there." When my brother is not there of course... She thought the last part to herself as she looked down at the ground as she leaned onto Alex still.

Alex just nodded when she said that she'd come to his house and borrow some books. "We don't have a piano in our house. I think going to yours is necessary. Sorry." Alex did have a piano but he decided not to have one when it got broken. It was a problem whenever he decided to leave a place and start a new life. Bringing a piano was just a burden for him besides if he did have one, he won't have the chance to get invited in Erin's house.

Erin nodded and sighed very slightly as she kept leaning onto him. "It is fine Alex. We just need to make sure we are there when my brother is not there." She slightly looked up at him as her eyes were a light, bright blue. They looked like the morning sky when the clouds were out. A gorgeous day. A very small smile was on her lips as she then slowly started to look down at the book in her hands again.

From her words, Alex could tell that Erin was afraid to her brother. It made Alex want to meet her brother and probably teach him some manners to be a better brother. How could her brother be like that? He somehow felt protective over Erin and he wouldn't let anyone just hurt the girl he just saved years ago. "Alright, then."Alex, agreed. "So what would you like to do today?"

Erin shrugged as she then held onto his arm that she was leaning on. Her mind was wandering towards her brother as she sniffled a bit. Why in the world would her brother hate her? She knew why. Because she made it out of the fire and their parents did not. He was angered, in a wrath, that she would live and not them. She then squeezed his arm, thinking about how cold, angered, and mad her brother always was towards her. Even when she was a little girl, after the fire, he did not comfort her at all. It was as if she was all by herself. Until she met Alex of course.

Giving no response, Alex just thought of staying on the bench which wasn't a bad idea especially if he's in a company of a beautiful girl. He wanted to assure her safety so that she doesn't have to be afraid of her brother but without knowing that he's a vampire, his words may not do any good. He wouldn't like for her to find out what he really was, he was just contented with having her beside him, knowing that he's only a high school boy.

Erin then whispered, "I am sorry if I was just distant. It is just...I don't know what to do about my home life." She closed her eyes for a bit before she then looked up at Alex. She wore a slight smile as she then touched his left cheek with her right hand. "Thank you for being here for me Alex.." And thank you for making my heart sing... she thought the last part to herself. It was true. She was always happier around Alex for some reason. He made her feel alive and an actual person. She then knew what was going on. She had a crush on Alex.

"First don't worry about it. Everything will come to its rightful place in time." He promised. If nothing would change for the next few days, Alex would be the one to make things happen for Erin's life to be better. If he saved her life once, why not save her teenage life from being a little away from miserable? "No problem. I like being here with you." It was just Alex being honest. He did like having her around, he felt responsible for her. As her hand touched his cheek, he closed his eyes for a bit and let the feeling linger. It has been a while since he'd been very nice to a human like Erin.

Erin then stroke his cheek gently and whispered, "Thank you for being so kind to me Alex. You are the only person I feel open with." She then found herself wanting to kiss his lips. They looked perfect. She blushed brightly and then looked down. If she were to kiss him, she thought that he would make fun of her or worse. It did hurt her heart that she could not kiss him, for she did feel very connecting to him. It also seemed like they were meant to be together. As if Alex and Erin were meant to be.

"There's nothing to be thankful for."Alex smiled at her. He wasn't just being generous when he said it. He really meant it. Whatever made him to act this nice to Erin was still a mystery despite knowing that she's the little girl he saved. He was very different from the person Erin knew and it might probably hurt her if she knew that the Alex she knew was just a ghost of the past. He didn't want to hurt her and knowing himself, he probably would even if he didn't mean it.

Erin looked up at Alex as she could see through his eyes that something was up with him. Was he hiding something from her maybe? "A-Alex, are you okay? Is something on your mind? Because...I am always here if you need someone to talk to. I may not be the first person you want to talk to, but I thought that I would let you know that I am here for you." She wore her signature, soft smile upon her lush, pale pink lips.

Erin's voice brought him back to reality. "I'm okay. Its nothing so don't worry about it."He told her, wearing a smile to hide his true feelings. His feelings wasn't important, for him it was better to live being numb than to get hurt or vulnerable. He would rather let the years pass with Erin not knowing who and what he really was. "Thank you. I'll keep that in mind." Will Erin still be as nice in the present once she knew what he really was? What he enjoyed doing for the years he'd been alive as a vampire? He doubt that she would remain nice to him if she ever knew those things. "So what part are you now it the book?"He asked with enthusiasm, trying to change the topic.

Erin looked down at the book by now as she then stated, "Well, I am actually close to finishing the book. This is probably my 5th or 6th time reading this book actually. I may seem strange, but I am a huge fan of Shakespeare." She then placed her hand on top of Alex's, as if she was going to warm it up for him. Her smile on her lips looked as if they could make a whole room of sad people to smile happily. Her eyes also sparkled as she was smiling down at the book, and then she slowly looked up to look at Alex with her bright blue eyes. Her warm smile still upon her perfect lips.

As they returned back to the book topic, Alex was pleased since he wasn't comfortable talking about his past. "Are you kidding? I admire the man as well!"He exclaimed. Remembering the past, Alex wasn't able to meet Shakespeare which was a bit unfortunate since the man became famous. "Romeo and Juliet sounds like the prefect tragedy of two lovers. So I'm betting that you've already read a Midsummer night's dream? I kinda liked it. " He didn't know what came to him but he smiled matching Erin's. It was as if her smile was infectious disease that he caught. Without his noticing it, Alex's gaze was focused on her pink lips for seconds. He was about to lean down to meet her lips with his when he reminded himself that she's just a little girl who doesn't deserve to be played with. Saving her from the fire made Alex felt that Erin was somehow special that they were suppose to have some kind of bond but Alex doesn't want to think of any having any romance after he had been betrayed by two people that he loved. Don't think of anything, Alex. Focus with the book topic.

Erin blushed as he looked at her lips. Why was she so wanting to just kiss his lips with a passion that was usually just read in books and never seen in public. She wanted a kiss like people do in the rain. Just something from Alex, but she would never push it. "I have read Midsummer Nights Dream. It is okay. Not my favorite at all." She then closed her book a bit to show that she was done reading the book.

Alex was expecting a little bit that Erin liked the book though he wasn't disappointed since there are tons of classical books they could talk about and never get bored. "Then what is your favorite book?" Perhaps they could talk about that. After closing her book, Alex sensed that they could talk more freely than having Erin's attention divided between the book and their conversation.

Erin smiles and then whispers, "From what? Shakespeare or from anyone? My favorite book of all time is Pride and Prejudice. Whenever I read that book I feel like I am in a better life and world than what I am in now. It makes me feel like I have no troubles in the world and that my brother would be gone and I would be happier." And maybe find some love... she thought to herself in her mind.
