Bonfire of the Millennium

Jeremy woke up and looked around to see he was alone. He wasn't sure at how long he had been out, but it couldn't have been that long as he could still hear chaos in the air. His head had subsided to a dull throbbing.

He slowly got up, feeling anger rise in him. Everything had come back to him, everything. It was the second time he had been compelled by Damon thanks to Elena. He didn't know whether he was more pissed or hurt. He saw both of them standing together and was about to storm over to them, but then he heard Elizabeth and instead he followed her voice.

As he came closer to her he could see Bonnie was with her too, and see that Elizabeth was covered by a burning tree branch. There was nothing he could do without getting burnt, and he doubted he would be able to even lift the branch. "Bonnie, you have to get it off her now." He said agitated. He realized how angry he was with not just Damon and Elena, but everyone here. They all had to know, and none of them chose to tell him.

It was like everything slowed-down. I felt the fire from the tree reach underneath to my clothes. I felt the heat on my skin. I couldnt move my arms, they seemed to be pulled out of socket. I didnt dare move my legs because I didnt know if there was any damage to them, and if there was damage I didnt want to cause more.

I was only able to move my head. My jaw was shut tight. I could hear screaming. I saw Jeremy yelling for Bonnie or someone to help. He looked mad. "Please Jer, Do something! I think im on fire!" I screamed trying not to get mad at anyone. I felt like I was going to die. Even if there was anyone to help me, they would most likely be burned. This was the scariest moment of my life.

Bonnie concentrated harder and finally got the branch off of Lizzie. "Jer get her out of there!" she yelled. She couldn't hold the branch off of her forever and she did not have the concentration to throw it t the other direction seeing as she was scared and everyone else ws in a slight panic. "Lizzie you have to try to move!" she screamed.

Jeremy could see the fire spreading to her legs and felt all his other emotions drop as panic rushed through him. He heard her words and was trying to think of how he could get the branch off her when thankfully Bonnie managed to raise it up enough for him to grab Elizabeth carry her away from the fire. He quickly put her back on the ground and started swatting at her legs, putting out the fire.

He kneeled down by Elizabeth. "Liz, are you okay?" He asked desperately. He felt out of breath and dizzy from the smoke and running around. It felt like this night had been going on forever.

I was thankful when I felt the heaviness come off of my body. I grabbed tightly onto Jeremy as he took me away and placed me on the ground. I felt coolness as he swated the fire off my skin. I sat up as he knelt by me, we both seemed to be catching our breath as he were able to take one finally. The smoke lingered in the air slightly. I wrapped my arms around his neck as I said, "Thank you so much Jeremy. You and Bonnie just saved my life. I owe you both big time." I felt a few tears start their way down my face as I stopped the one brimming in my eyes.

Jeremy sighed as he saw Elizabeth was going to be okay. "It's no problem. You helped me, I helped you." He said to her smiling, hoping to cheer her up. He saw the tears forming in her eyes and didn't know if it was from the pain or if she was just upset. He placed one of his hands on her shoulder and gave it a light squeeze, and brushed away the few tears that were falling down her face with his other. "Are you sure you're alright?" He asked wanting to make sure she was really fine. He still hadn't figured out girls emotions, and didn't want to make any inferences.

I closed my eyes and smiled. He was wiping my tears away. We had both saved each others lives in one night. The thought to me back a little. I didn't talk untill my voice was steady. "Yeah, I'm fine. It's just a sting and a little shock." I let go of him even though I really didn't want to. I stood up after regaining my balance. My voice and actions showed a girl who was fine, but the pain in my legs told a different story. I shock off the thought as I tried to fix my brunt cheer skirt and shirt. "Your heads still bleeding. I need to go find help. Bonnie can you help him while I drive to the police station?"

I hopelessly continued wandering around, my hands out front. Originally, when Elizabeth wiped away the soot from my eyes, I had hoped that that was what was blinding me. Obviously, I was still seeing nothing but utter black. Certain bits of light would overcome the darkness, but it lasted for split seconds.
I continued on, wandering around the area, praying that I wouldn't wander too far off. Hopefully.
"Is anyone over here?" I paused, my hands still swooshing around, "Hello?"

"What?! I can't even have fun anymore?" He asked getting to his feet. Sometimes he had no idea why he stuck around, no one seemed to be but anymore. Even Stefan wasn't as fun to wind up.

"Oh so now everyone develops a stutter?" He asked, it seemed no one could say the word vampire once and get over it. "Yes vampires. The worlds not just full of arrogant humans you know. All your nightmares have come true."

"Well a bad woman came all bitey bitey on my neck. I was deaded..." He said in a babyish voice before speeding it up abit as he returned to his normal tone. "...and then came back purely to suck the life out of innocent humans... or not so innocent." He said looking at Elena. "Understand? Good." He said making his way over to retrieve his brother.

"This way Stevie Wonder." He said clearly from behind his brother. "Ouch, thats gotta suck." He said taking in the state of his eyes.

"I'm fine Liz, it's a lot better now." He said. Jeremy didn't want to stick around this place anymore, as long as everyone was alright he wanted away. His anger had returned. He was infuriated at almost everyone here because they had to have known about him. He didn't understand how they thought compelling him was for his own good,he thought they had realized that the first time.
He looked over at Stefan as he heard him call out, and saw Damon. His rage overcame his thoughts and he immediately charged at Damon. "You f**King a**hole!" he yelled as he landed his first on Damon's jaw.

"Is that you, Damon?" Suddenly, there was a loud crack right where Damon's voice had come from; it sounded like a fist coming in contact with someone's jaw. I had grown accustom to the sound, but this, this sounded rage-fueled. Feeling helpless, I just stood there, wondering what was happening.

"Yes its me little brother! You losing your hearing now too?" He asked rolling his eyes as he made to turn him around. Before he got the chance to however a fist connected with his face and his hand instantly wrapped around the boys throat before he realised what he was doing. He pushed Jeremy to the floor and stodd over him.

"Touch me again and i promise you it will be the last thing you do. Elena's brother or not!" He growled and then turned flexing his jaw. "Someone needs to teach that kid how to throw a punch."

James watched on as Damon stood up and went on about him not being able to have fun anymore, and began thinking of what exactly he thought was fun. This being the first time he has found out about vampires, he didn't really have any idea of what 'fun' was to one, let alone one like Damon. He listened as Damon mentioned stuttering about Vampires, and could see how it could get annoying to continually hear stuttering whenever someone finds out about Vamps, and almost instantly snapped out of it and back into his normal speaking patterns. As Damon made his way over, and continued to explain about Vamps or something, he couldn't really make it out. James just nodded at him as he left to help his brother. All of a sudden he saw Jeremy, he thought his name was, run up and give Damon a rather sloppy uppercut to the jawbone. Although it didn't look like it hurt a lot, he could still kind of feel the pain that it would bring to a human's face. James heard Stefan call out for his brother, while he stood there, still as everything was still going on around him. Then, he glanced and saw Damon throw Jeremy onto the ground and yell at him for something, probably the sloppy-looking punch, and didn't really think anything of it before glancing around to look for Bonnie. When she left him, he was still standing there frozen. His gaze noticed her over by a tree that she had just lifted off of Elizabeth with her magic, and ran over to her, not crying anymore from what happened prior when she was unconscious.

"Are you alright, Bon?" He asked her as he knelt down and put his arm around her.

I listened to Damon explain to James about vampires. Of course he had to be a dick about it. When he was done explaining he released me so I was sitting on the ground. I watched what was going on around me. Damon when over to get Stefan who was fumbling around, the idiot probably fried his retinas. Bonnie and Jeremy were freeing Elizabeth from under a branch that was on fire. I stood up, allowing myself to heal more properly. I watched as Jeremy put out the fire that was on Elizabeth's legs. Jeremy was suddenly going at Damon and punched him in the face. I watched as Damon pushed him to the ground and threaten him. I sped over to him and had my hand around his throat, crushing his windpipe. My wounds were almost healed, I was hungry and pissed.

"Don't you dare threaten him!" I hissed out as my face got vainy and my fangs flashed at him. "I did not just save his life to have you threaten it."

Jeremy's punch didn't go as planned, he figured due to his head, but it was still a hard hit. He felt his hand sting and the next thing he knew he was on the ground with Damon standing over him with his hands around Jeremy's throat. For a moment he thought maybe he shouldn't have hit a vampire, but he felt himself get angrier and angrier. He wasn't scared of Damon, especially with his ring on.

He glared at Damon as he turned away and then got back up. He knew better than to try to fight him, but still he was pissed. "If I was such a problem why didn't you just kill me rather than compell me again?" He asked Damon then turned to Ravyn. "Save me?" he asked her confused.

Before he could doing anything else he found himself stuck in a tight grip. "You threatening me Ravyn?" He smirked wrapping his hands around hers to try and ease her up. He laughed. "He has the ring! He wasn't going to die and you stupidly nearly got yourself killed." He said the smile wiped off his face now. He was annoyed. Punched and choked all in under one hour.

"Let me go Ravyn." He said looking her into the eyes. All hints of laughing now gone.

I looked at Jeremy quickly turning my face to normal. "Yes I saved you!" I turned back to Damon since he decided to be an utter ass. My face turned back to its vamped out form. "Yes i'm threatening you!" I snarled at him. I tightened my grip on his throat, lifting him off his feet. "His ring only protects him from a supernatural death, meaning you not a fucking car blowing up." I snapped at him, my face only a few inches away from his. "As for me nearly getting killed..." I gave a slight pause then whispered the rest. "I'm not afraid to die anymore." I knew my eyes showed a hardened expression. "As you wish." I tossed him to the ground and clenched my jaw hard.

Bonnie saw all the commotion going on then when James came over to her and put his arm around her"I'm fine" she said a bit distantly. "So I guess they told you." she said looking toward the small group of Vampires that were gathering.

James looked down at her as his arms wrapped around her, hoping she wouldn't be unconscious again and have to go through that whole ordeal, again. He could tell that she wasn't very happy about what had happened there, or him finding out about Vampires, if she even knew yet. As he kissed her on the top of her head, he replied. "Hm?" He said, he didn't know whether or not to tell Bonnie the truth, or lie to her to keep her feelings safe, or as safe as they could be after that night. He didn't want her to worry about him, if he would get turned or worse, killed by one of them. But decided on the truth. "Yea, not in a very good way, but yea, they told me the gist of it."

He shrugged. "Technicalities." He said passing the comment off. He knew how the ring worked and it was stupid to risk your life for any human let alone one with a ring.

He whispered back. "Neither am i but that doesn't mean im willing to throw my life away!" As soon as he hit the ground he was back on his feet rubbing his throat. "You'll regret that Ravyn." He said narrowing his eyes as he turned to leave. He had better things to do than save them all again.

"Don't threaten me Damon!" I growled out at him. I knew he couldn't kill me put that didn't mean he wouldn't try. I turned to Jeremy. "Excuse me but I have to leave." I stated pushing past Damon roughly. I needed to get out of here before I killed the humans. I could no longer long control my face. I left my car where it was and sped off to only come across a few human campers. I fed on a woman as a scream tore through the forest.

Bonnie looked at James with the threat of tears in her eyes "I'm sorry James, I should have told you but it's just not safe." she said.

James glanced down at her as she looked up at him, eyes were beginning to turn a little red and puffy. As he heard her say those words, a tear dropped onto her cheek from his. What did she have to be sorry for, even though she knew, she was protecting him. He knew that much, this is a dangerous thing to live with, let alone be surrounded by it. "It is alright Bonnie, I don't hold it against you for any reason." He told her, kissing her on the top of the head again, "I don't think they will hurt me, seeing as how another death won't really solve anything."

The whole time Elena was listening to the chaos immerging, she was sitting, with her face buried in her hands.

"Can everyone just shut the fuck up and calm down?" She asked, in her face, although loud enough for the immature mother effers to hear. "This is just too much for you to understand tonight Jeremy." She said getting up and walking towards him.

Jeremy stood and watched as Ravyn and Damon argued. He didn't remember Ravyn pushing him, but it made sense, otherwise he'd be dead. He nodded towards Ravyn as she left. He then turned to Elena as she yelled at everyone. She was the one that had hurt him the most. "I really don't want to hear your excuses." he said, he really didn't even want to be around her.
