Two Brilliant Minds (Elijah and Emma)

Emma had very beautiful red hair. "Currently I am unemployed. I was starting to write a book about small towns and their histroy but I got sidetracked by some family issues. I look forward to getting back into it though." I told her. It wasn't a complete lie, even though the writing thing was a lie from the start, but I've hadn't had a 'job' in a very long time.

The smile on my lips never left as I then looked at him at that moment. "You are writing a book? That is fascinating! I have never met someone with as must intelligence as myself here in this small town." I told Elijah at that moment.

I chuckle. "Yes I am, its barely been started but I have a great idea of where it is going." I tell her. Talking to Emma made me miss alot of the things I used to do. "So I take it you are not from here?" I ask.

I smile and shake my head. "Nope. I moved here after my parents were killed. And you Elijah?" My green eyes were on him the whole time as I was smiling the whole time at that moment. This was something pleasant to me. Someone intelligent to talk to.

"Oh, I am so sorry about your parents." I tell her. I do hope it wasn't anything supernatural, a sweet woman like Emma shouldn't have to deal with something like that. "This is actually my hometown. I left for awhile but I'm back for those family issues I told you about previously." I smile.

I smile and nod a bit as I then looked down at my hands a bit. Memories of my parents' death filled my head as I then shook my head to block the memories out. "This is a really nice town, isn't it?" I stated to him.

"It has its perks." I say but then I noticed that Emma had changed her deamnor. "Is everything alright? I did not mean to upset you." I tell her. I hope I did not upset her when I gave my condolences about her parents.

I shake my head as I then looked up at him with my green eyes and smiled at Elijah. "I am fine Elijah. You did nothing, no worries."

"You worried me for a second, I thought I had done something to displease you." I told her. I did like Emma, she was nice company to have. Not like the modern human.

I shake my head as I then light giggled and hid my mouth a bit behind my book at that moment. "Of course you did nothing wrong Elijah." That was when my green eyes looked into his eyes and I smiled some more.

"You smile alot." I start also with a smile on my face. "Is it something I've said?" I ask. What could she possibly be smiling so much at, she has made me curious.

I then shrugged a bit as I then said, "I am smiling because I have not had a reason in a very long time to smile like I am right now. So, I should really thank you Elijah for helping me to smile once more."

"My pleasure." I tell her. "I'm glad I could help brighten up your day." I said. If she hasn't been able to smile so much in a long time, I am glad to be of help.

I then nod at him as I then noticed my red bangs were covering my eyes once more. Huffing a bit, I blew them out of my eyesight, but they simply fell back into place once more at that moment.

"I see your hairstyle is getting on your nerves." I say as I see her try to blow her bangs out of the way. "I'm glad I keep mine short, though your red hair is very lovely the way it is." I tell her with a smile. I haven't smiled in so long either.

I noticed his smile and melted on the inside. He sure was one handsome man. If I was not show shy to ask a guy out, I would ask if he would like to come over to my house and enjoy a meal with me, but looking at myself I was not sure what his answer would be. Gently, I bit my lip as I whispered, "Thank you so much and may I say that I like your hair as well?"

"Thank you, I usually get sarcastic remarks from my siblings but I guess thats their way of complimenting me." I tell her. Again it was true and untrue, Bekah and Klaus both like their little hair jokes but I get compliments time to time.

I look into his eyes and get lost a bit. If I was a teenage girl, I would all over him by flirting and asking for his number, but I was a grown adult. Even though I did want his number, I was not one to ask such questions being so shy. "Elijah, I promise I will make no sarcastic remarks."

I smile. "Then I thank you for that Miss Emma." I really enjoyed talking with her, she was not like women of this generation. "I do apologize if this seems forward since we have just met but how would you like to join me for lunch?" I asked. I hope she would not begin to think lowly of me.

Was he asking me out on a date? This handsome man who sat down across from me was asking me, Emma Knight, onto a date. Never has a guy asked me to go out with him. A smile spread on my lips as I then nodded my head, causing my red curls to bounce a bit. "Of course I would like to go out to lunch with you Elijah. That sounds very lovely actually." The smile stayed on my lips as I could feel my cheeks were still a light blush from him being so polite and charming.

I smiled and then stood up offering her my elbow. "Please, let me escort you." I tell her. To think I am being a gentlemen and the only decent place in town is the Mystic Grill. Well it could be a nice place when it wants to be.

I slowly stood up and took ahold of his elbow as I then smiled up at him. "Thank you so much Elijah." I said to him as I kept my hold of the handsome man. He was much taller than I and my head could rest on his arm and nothing much unless I stood on my tip toes. My blue eyes looked up at his dark brown eyes as I gave him my most kind and charming smile.

"My pleasure." I tell her as I smile down. Emma was much shorter than me but still very charming. I begin to lead her out of the library and outside. "Now I must tell you, the place we are going is the Mystic Grill. Is about the only decent place in town." I tell her voiceing my earlier thoughts.

A small laugh escaped from my lips as I then felt the wind brisk around our bodies as I then stated, "You can say that again and the Grill will be just fine for me actually." I wanted to say that anywhere was fine because we were going to be together, but I did not. As we walked, my hair blew in my face a bit, making me eat my hair at times, but then I finally put it behind me and laughed a bit. "This wind is kind of nice." I joked slightly at that moment.

I chuckled. "It does make your look dazzling though." I tell her. "The way your red hair blows is very...artistc? I can't think of a better word." I laugh. I couldn't believe that I just became tongue tied, that rarely happened. It was true though, the way her hair blew was very pretty.
