Awkward Meetings (Ravyn/Luke)

"Unorthodox... Not really. We look for people that tie us to our humanity. It's as simple as that, whether its through love or friendship. Being with a human because that's what we once were, its what you found." I sighed at my own situation. It's ironic that a hybrid is what ties me to mine. "Humans are more fragile then vampires, werewolves and now hybrids. But if you love one you can't walk on eggshells around them. It will be impossible to survive. When they get attacked to us, like yours seems to be, it's more difficult to leave. They can't switch off their emotions like we can. They just can't stop feeling at the drop of a hat." I looked at him with a smile. "All you can do is take it with a grain of salt, and see where you end up. And there's no need to apologize, talking about something with someone who can relate is much better then not doing so it's unhealthy. Which could put loved ones in even more danger." I smiled at him again. He was easy to talk to, I could see why Tyler and him were friends. My personality was what probably helped him open up. I did things my way and kept other people's issues to myself. I kept myself the way I was when I was human, most of the time. Which meant I have honor, and don't go around destroying lives just because I can.

I run a hand through my hair and finger the dog tags at my neck. Believe me, I don't hold back. I shake my head, thinking of all the people who I've seen die, the ones that I've killed myself. I can see why Ty likes you. You're level-headed, smart, intuitive. It's a welcome change. I know Ravyn doesn't think Ty likes her, but he really does. I can tell that he would. She's smart and witty. Tyler should keep a hold on this girl.

My attention was drawn to what looked like a habit of his. There were dog tags around his neck. "Military?" I questions curiously as I nodded towards his tags. That would explain about not talking about his past. I wasn't going to push my luck and have him close up on me. He needed someone to talk to who wouldn't judge him. I chuckled and smirked. "Oh yes i'm just everything he's not." I said jokingly. "Although I have a temper that rivals Nik's, Tyler's only seen that a few times. But I try to keep to my mannerisms."

I nod. Marine and navy seal. I laugh. Yes, that's why he likes you. You're opposites, in most cases anyway. I cross my arms and smirk as a woman saunters by and drops her number in my lap. I chuckle and crumple it up before tossing it into the trash next to me.

I just nodded my head at him. I kept a straight face until after some random woman sauntered off. I burst out in laughter as I saw him crumple up a piece of paper and throw it into the trash can. I put my hand over my mouth to surpress the laughter, since he was giving me a funny look. "Sorry." I said sheepishly. "It's just funny how i'm not the only one that ends up with random people's numbers." I started laughing again when I remember the look on Tyler's face when we went to the mall and I collected a few numbers.

I laugh. Believe me, Erin loves it. I say sarcastically. You should see what happens at the gym. I chuckle. She can be very aggressive for a human. I laugh.

I continued to laugh. "Are you sure she's a human and not part wolf?" I said jokingly in between laughs. "Sounds like she's very territorial." I smiled at him. "Tyler looked like he was ready to kill a group of guys when we went to the mall the one time. It was absolutely hilarious, but I know exactly how you feel."

I laugh. He's the most possessive person I know, of course besides me. I smirk. I can imagine that his behavior was less than cordial.

I just shrugged at him. "It was just highly entertaining." I smirked. "So how do you know Tyler?" It was about time I shifted the conversation away from that failing disaster of a relationship that never even started.

I smirk. I saved his cousin; inadvertently we became friends really fast. I look at here, an open invitation for her to ask questions about my past.

I nodded my head. "Family is everything." I looked him over and there was an expression on his face. It seemed like he was letting me in. So I took a chance. "So you said you were a marine and a navy seal, how long were you in?"

I meet her gaze. Five years. I graduated high school at 13, went to college at 14, graduated at 18 and joined the military. I shake my head. Psychology, sociology, and forensics major; that explains part of the reason I can read you so well. I chuckle.

"Smart for someone so young." I was impressed. "I'm assuming you found out about your werewolf gene when you joined the military." I was curious about that. I know that they have to kill someone to activate the gene. If he fought in the war then that must have been difficult.

I clear my throat. No, right before, actually. My father continuously beat my brother. After awhile I snapped, you can guess what happened next. I meet her gaze prepared for judgement.

"Trust me I understand snapping, very well in fact." I could tell he was waiting for me to judge him but I wasn't going to do that. "When someone you care about it getting hurt or in danger you just act, you feel like you don't have a chance to think first." I know i've acted on instinct first then had to deal with what happens after words. "You normally have to take things with a grain of salt, and deal with it later but just remember we didn't want this to happen to us. It just works out this way."

I chuckle. Thank you Sensei. I do a half-dramatic bow. Your wisdom is always appreciated. I like Ravyn. She makes me laugh; she's a good friend.

I laughed. "Well that's a new one." I smirked at him. "Considering I'm as old as I am I'll take that as a compliment." I looked at him with a serious look. "Well at least you now know that someone in this small town will listen and give you advice." I said winking at him.
