Our Chances Meredith|Carol

Meredith drove past Wikery Bridge, heading for the Lockwood Mansion. The doctor kept thinking about what happened to Damon at the Founder's Ball. I called Carol and she said that we should discuss it in person than on the phone. I just don't get it. Why would another Vampire target Damon? she thought, driving into up road way with the Mansion in complete sight. After parking her Porsche, Meredith made her way and knocked on the door, hoping Carol would open the door. "Carol? It's me, Meredith," Meredith said, kind of frantic. She had been filled with worry, worrying about the Originals and what Alaric would do. The doctor knew that Vampires were dangerous, but there was also Stefan and Damon. They don't deserve to die - not after what they had done to protect Elena.

I was in my study going through some paper work, trying to pass the time. I was expecting Meredith to stop by after our earlier phone call. I told her that we should talk about Damon being attacked by another vampire at the Founder's Ball. I didn't really know what happened since I was busy the whole night with the fundraiser. We needed to have this conversation in private away from prying ears.

I was jolted out of my thoughts when I heard a knock on the front door. I got up from my chair and hurried towards the door. I heard Meredith call out to me from behind the door. I pulled open the door, I was glad that Tyler was out with friends. "Meredith thank you for coming, please come in." I stepped to the side giving her enough room to come in. "We can talk in my office, if you'd like."

Meredith nodded at Carol and said, "That's fine with me. I'm just ... shaken up about the whole thing and with what Happened with Alaric, It has just been a stressful week," the doctor said, forming a weak smile. "I just don't understand it. Why would a Vampire attack Damon in the middle of a public event with everyone here, especially in your own home." Meredith said, shaking her head slightly as she walked with Carol to her office.

I nodded to her as I closed the door. What happened with Alaric was shocking. I lead her to my office and closed the door behind us. "Please have a seat." I said as I walked around my desk and sat in my chair. "I'm not sure but can you start from the beginning, all I know is that Damon was attacked in public by another vampire. I was preoccupied with the raffle fundraiser." I said looking at her, she was very vague over the phone about what happened.

Meredith nodded, and cleared her throat, beginning to speak. "Well, I noticed that the Originals were there, and so I decided to walk away before they spotted me, and for some reason, I went upstairs rather than go outside, and I went to the master bedroom to look for you, but then I remembered you were prepping the Raffle. Before I was going walk back out, I noticed that the closet to the bedroom sealed shut with a crowbar and a chain that had Vervain on it. I took the chain and crowbar off the door, and opened it, seeing Damon unconscious. For some odd reason, I thought it was your doing, but when Damon came to, he told me that it was a Vampire named by Galvin Villiers." Meredith said, giving all the explicit details to Mrs. Lockwood. Suddenly, Meredith recognized the last name. "Oh my god ..." Meredith said in shock. She realized where the name came from. It was from a breaking news report on a missing boy by the name of Brendon Villiers. She even remembered that she had the boy as a patient once. He had a broken leg from skateboarding. She gave him a cast for his leg. "Have you heard about the little boy that went missing a month ago, Carol?" The doctor asked, seeing if she knew where this was going.

I sat patiently as Meredith explained what had happened. I nodded at her when she mentioned the Originals. I don't recall Klaus being there but I was too busy at that moment with the raffle. I furrowed my brows when Meredith suggested that she thought I did it. "I may not like Damon because he is a vampire but from my current situation with my son. I would not harm someone that is trying to protect the people of this town." I paused for a moment. "Isn't Galvin Villiers the one that's been hanging around Kol Mikaelson?" I waited for Meredith continued after her little out burst. "Do you mean Brendon? I think Tyler was trying to help him with something, but i'm not completely sure." I thought for a minute something was clawing its way from the back of my mind. Then it downed on me. "Wasn't his brothers name Galvin." I screwed my eyes shut for a moment. If they were related to each other then we have a bigger problem on our hands then what we originally thought. "Why would a new born for lack of a better word attack an older vampire?"
