Evangeline's Arrival -- Pt. 2

I was genuinely surprised at the girl's youth. I vaguely remembered when I was that age, though I constantly fought to keep my human memories away. My time as a mortal had been horrible and I'd never been keen on reminiscing about those years. I much preferred my memories after I'd been turned. "Wow, you're young," I replied. "You still have your entire life ahead of you. Don't do anything to screw it up, okay?" Watching Elizabeth as she returned her glass to the liquor cabinet, I couldn't help but think about how thirsty I still was. I figured, however, that Elizabeth wouldn't be too keen on donating so I decided I'd ask about the blood bags. "Hey, do you think your uncles could space a bag of blood for me? It's been a while since I fed and I'm rather hungry, if you know what I mean. Do you have any AB Positive?" I tried not to get my hopes up too much, but it didn't really matter. I was thirsty, and there was blood in the house.

"Every teenager screws up. weather it be on accident or purposly. It's all being human. It's hard for you to screw up, isnt it?" Elizabeth responded. The vampire looked young in her years. After she requested a bag she decided to so they wouldnt havve to make up more stories than needed. She walked back to the kitchen. Sure enough, there was one bag of AB positive left.

Elizabeth walked back in to the living room. "Last AB positve bag left. Enjoy." she said handing it over to the girl. She sat down. She wondered how long it will take untill Damon got back.

My whole body felt like it had ten elephants sitting on every part. Slowly suffocating me- if I was alive. If I was alive. Man, I seriously have to stop sulking. As I walked up to the boarding house, I didn't even bother to be aware of who may be in the house. I just walked straight up the walkway, wrapped my milky white hands around the metal doorknob before opening the oak. As soon as the door swung open, everything kicked in. All five senses greeted my brain. 'Someone is here.' I was telling myself. 'Duh.' I answered back. I inhaled a sharp, unneeded breath before taking a whiff of the air. "Elizabeth, when did you get home?" I called out. She must have been here for awhile for her scent was locked onto the air very strongly. I walked into the kitchen towards the sink where the cool water rushed against my forearm that was covered in blood.

Kai jumped as he heard Stefan's voice from a distance upstairs. "Wait, Stefan's here?" He asked Damon. Douche. "I would have been a little more pleasant if I knew he was..." He told Damon, immediately signalling he didn't like him. Although, Damon didn't even like him either.

Elizabeth could hear Stefan's voice after the door opened. "If you would exuse me."" She told the vampires. She took a step to her left, heading into the kitchen. "Not that long." She looked at him as his arm was covered in blood. "Uncle Stefan, what happened?" she asked walking over. She wetted a cloth and tried to assist him in cleaning up the blood. "Are you ok?"

Kai sighed, annoyed that out of all the people in the house, he's stuck in the room with Eva and Damon Damn Salvatore.

I looked up to meet Elizabeth's baby blue orbs, "It's nothing really. Hunting competition with some new vampire in town." I raised my voice so a certain someone could hear me, "Looks like someone didn't tell me that a new face had popped into the wonderful town of Mystic Falls." I lightly took the cloth from her hands and laid it across the dried up blood that remained. I then walked into the room to find more than I expected. "Damon." I nodded towards the dark figure. My eyes trailed across the room to the next figure, "Kai?"

She let go og the rag and crossed her arms over her chest. She gave him her 'Katherine' look at the comment of a hunting competion. She followed him into the living room. "Why is it every time I meet a new vampire, you two always know who they are? I feel so out of the loop in this town." she said staring at Damon, then at Kai. Her heels click as she took a tiny step.

I turned towards Elizabeth before putting a hand on her shoulder, "To protect you, Elizabeth. I had thought that Kai," I briefly glanced towards Kai, "was gone, so why bother to tell you old news." I slid my hand off of her shoulder and sat on one of the empty sofas trying to keep distance between Damon and I. I kept my eyes on the ground and the window, glancing back and forth endlessly.

She nodded in agreement as if she understood what they were doing. But in her mind she just wanted to know who she needed to be aware of in Mystic Falls since a lot of vampires and werewolfs had made their way in the city limits. Who should she trust or stay away from. She stood in her place and looked at the room full of vampires.

I looked over towards Damon, and green met blue. He was being unusually silent, which actually worried me. I tried sending him a message via thoughts but found that he had built a strong wall around his thoughts. Damn. His eyes seemed silent.I had guessed that he would be quiet after the World War Three we had yesterday over Elena, but I never expected him to be this quiet. I turned towards Elizabeth, "Why is everyone here?"

"I have no clue. I walked in and saw Damon, Kai and Eva when I got home from work. Work.. If you would exuse me." she said. She went up the staircase and into her room. She sat on her bed while pulling her phone out. She didaled her boss, Mark.

Mark had answered his ringing phone while he was in his office at the Grille. "Hello?"

"yes, Mark? Elizabeth Salvatore here. I just wanted to say that you can take my job and give it to someone else that will possibly screw over. I quit." she hung up her phone and tossed it aside. Well that's that. She walked down the stairs and back into the living room knowing everyone could have heard her. She still wanted to be alone when she told the guy off. She was still human.

Kai sat quiet. He flashed Stefan the piece sign as he acknowledged him in the room. When Elizabeth had quit her job he looked around for nothingness. "Awkward." He mumbled to himself.

As soon as the word slipped from Kai's mouth, I couldn't help but let out a slight giggle. It was more giddy than anything. But, you know, when you need a good laugh, anything will do. I looked over towards Kai, "Couldn't agree anymore."

Damon narrowed his eyes and looked out the window. The thirst was driving him insane and he felt opening his mouth would only dry his mouth further. Without a word he left the room with lightning speed down to the basement where he grabbed a blood bag or three.

Once the first bag was empty he ran back up to the kitchen to nuke the other 2. He needed warm, fresh blood to quench his thirst.

"Seems you have a fan club brother." He said entering the room again and perching on the window ledge with his warm blood. "Seems they have nothing better to do than fan girl over St Stefan who's no longer as... Saint like." He shrugged.

There was a light breeze that lightly caressed my skin. My green orbs looked towards the windowsill where the black figure stood. 'Damon,' I instantly thought. Once his sarcastic remarks were finished, which I must say, I deeply enjoyed, I said, "Well, hello, brother. Nice to see you. I guess that you enjoy not telling me when there's a new vampire in town that could possibly disturb my hunting grounds, which they did." I kept a frown drawn on my face.

"Wish i could say the same. I was just getting your face out my head and then you showed up again..." He said pointing to his head. "Such an ugly sight." He said shaking his head.

"Maybe if you used your powers, you'd have realised." He said throwing an empty blood bag into the nearest bin. "FYI, thats... for your information for those who aren't down with the kids. I found them here and i do not live to keep you informed."

After years of broken bones and bleeding from fights with Damon, I had just learned how to grab the reigns of Damon's wild remarks without using the whip that starts the fights. "Sorry, Demon, I didn't really have time to think when I thought that you were actually doing your 'job'. IK that's I know if you didn't know already." I lightly smirked, but returned to the frown, tapping my fingers against the Italian leather.

Elizabeth laughed to herself even though she knew the others would hear her. Her uncles were fighting like little kids with the name-calling and verbal fights, if you could call them that. She let her arms go to her side as she sat down in a chair that faced everyone. She loved that about her uncles though, they were vampires but they always acted human toward eacth other.

"Pfft when have i ever stuck to a job? The only job i have is working for myself. You know, im the best boss ever!" He smiled wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. Now he was feeling a little better.

"You should try it sometime instead of following originals around like a little lost sheep."

My eyes were growing large with red, "And I wouldn't have been lost, following the originals around if it weren't for the little Bo Peep loosing her love for me." I glanced towards Damon. Ever since we made the final transition into vampires, Damon made it clear that all love for me was lost back in his human life. And without that love and guidance, I truly was a lost sheep, being influenced by the wrong side. A sigh escaped my mouth remembering the days when Damon and I would be playfully shoving each other while playing football on the lawn. The good ol' days were long gone- no where to be seen, along with the brotherly love.

"Awww." He pouted. "Steffy feeling unloved?" He mocked rolling his eyes. "Broke your heart did i?" He laughed.

"I made a promise brother and i intend to stick by it. I always, keep my promises." He said turning his ring around his finger.

Realizing I had let my guard down, I snapped back into the brooding Stefan that I was supposed to be. I sat there still tapping my fingers against the Italian leather that I knew would be torn to shreds if I were to let my anger get the better of me. "Oh well in that case, shall we count how many promises you broke? Nah, that would take too long." I stopped letting the words that had just slipped out soak into my own brain. Something was up, and I was definitely not myself. I felt more words about to spill out, I tried to stop them, but here they came, "Hearts don't break without a reason."

He smiled. "Okay let me rephrase that. I don't break promises i like." He said. "The promise i made you is far too much fun to just break." He said, had he really broken his brothers heart? Or was this some stupid mind trick thing to get him to crumble?

"You know your problem? You care too much. Your heart would never have broken if you were like me! I have no heart to break."

I gave a slight smirk, "Maybe I was wrong. I don't think you have grown up, Damon." Back to my frown.

"Caring is a good thing, Damon. But, you know, your too busy painting everything black."
Does he really not have a heart? No, of course he does, but there's also that time when.. no don't think about that, Stefan.
'Time for some whiplash, Damon.' I thought.
"I already knew that you had no heart from the moment our mother died. The proof was in your cold, soulless eyes. Each 'playful' shove you gave me, I wound up with bruises, but you didn't care. No because you have no heart. Right, Damon?" I stared back at him with equally cold eyes.
