Subject: It was really confusing [Forest] Wed Jan 30, 2013 12:16 am

It was the awkwardness of the first day plus one. Hannah got out of her brothers car that she borrowed for the day and looked upon her new school. She kind of wish she transferred in at the exact beginning of the school year. It was so trashy just to randomly jump in like the middle of September, especially during senior year. Maybe she could make some friends here, who knows? She'd only been here a week and the town seemed really friendly. Weird friendly. Not that she was complaining but this seemed like on of those small towns where everybody knew each other.

Not only was it mid September, but she got to school late. So of course she had to awkwardly walk in and probably disrupt the teacher talking. Best way to start a new school! Hannah slowly surveyed her surroundings and walked into the building. It was really quiet and there was no one in the halls of course, so why rush to 1st period? She found what was to be her "locker" and locked at her little piece of paper as she tried to unlock it while holding her bag and her books in the other hand. It was really confusing.

Forest hadn't been in town too long, just long enough to purchase a house with the inheritance from his parents. He needed a job though, to put Abigail through school and to support them and lead a happy life. He was majoring in Biochemistry so he could possibly become a doctor, but in the mean time he would need a job. He was at the high school seeing if he could apply to be a substitute teacher for anything, preferably what he was majoring in - seeing as you only needed a high school diploma to do so. Once he left the office after talking to the principal, he smiled - he had nailed the job and gotten a substitute position as a biology teacher.

As he walked down the hallway he noticed a blonde girl that seemed a bit overwhelmed and he stopped to speak to her, hoping he wasn't making an intrusion. "Hey you seem a bit... Umm, baffled. Anything I can do to help? I don't go here.. But I figured I could lend a hand." He said with a smile as he awaited a response from the girl.

Hannah was definitely frustrated at this point. She never liked lockers. In junior high, she wouldn't use one. She'd have one of those zip up binders that you could store all your things on and carry around like one of those travel bags. It was really convenient because when she needed to come home on the bus she wouldn't be stuck sitting with that one kid who smelled worse than Ben "Stinky" Sturky on That's So Raven. Ugh, that was her show! She missed old Disney, but she moved on to more mature shows now. Ha, yeah right. But in all seriousness this locker was working her last nerve.

After about 90 seconds working on this devil machine, Hannah was definitely ready to give up. Her hand was a second away from cramping and her arms were the most tired they'd been in, well, ever. Before she knew it there was some guy asking if she needed help. She didn't even have to look up before agreeing. Oh my God, yes, please! She said, relieved her pain may have come to an end. These lockers were made for animals, geeze. She said with a soft chuckle before she looked up.

Okay, it was completely cliche. But you know that part in the romantic comedy where the girl first stares at the guy and it's like magic? Yeah, this was it. At least for Hannah. She, thankfully, came to her senses in less than 3 seconds and snapped out of it. But yeah, could you maybe hold all this stuff for like a quick minute? Hannah asked.

Forest just smiled and looked at the locker, which didn't seem like much hassle but they always were, and they always came at the most inconvenient of times. He laughed slightly as she seemed to be relieved that he could help, which was always nice - he loved to feel needed. "Alright, just tell me what you need me to do." He said as he smirked at her, because she said they were for the animals. It wasn't that far off from the truth, either. Most of the times these things were either never oiled properly or they were incredibly old and rusted and refused to open. Forest figured these were a mixture of both scenarios, so he just shook his head.

She seemed to go into a trance for literally like three seconds, which seemed a bit awkward but at the same time she could have just lost her train of thought. Right as he was about to interrupt her daydreaming session she seemed to come back and ask if he could hold her things which just made him shake his head slightly. She was going to go to war with the locker and that was precious, but at the same time it would ultimately make her late. Forest took the books and tucked them under his arm as he watched her struggle for a moment, before putting his hand over hers and looking at her. "Stop for a second and let me do this." He said as he put a bit more force than was necessary into it, due to being a werewolf, as he felt the locker come undone and it opened like magic for her. He just smiled at her and held her books out for her. "I'm Forest by the way." He said, hoping she would be polite and introduce herself in return.

Okay, back to Hannah and her unfortunate history with lockers. After junior high, her high school allowed them to carry around backpacks and stuff so lockers weren't a neccesity anymore. She stopped using them until she tried one final time at the beginning of junior year. It was a complete failure. She tried again for locker clean out day but afterwards she just said screw it and gave into the peer pressure and decided to carry around a bag.

Hannah wasn't listening to what he was saying as she was just being her quirky self and still trying to pull the locker open. It was definitely not one of the highlights of her time in Mystic Falls. When she felt his hand take her hand off the locker she gulped and listened finally as she just watched the magic happen. He was definitely like 'Dr. Locker'.

Hannah took her books back and smiled. Thanks. She said, awkwardly standing there before she remembered he, Forest, had introduced himself. Thank goodness he wasn't one of those fake asses who introduced themselves with their whole name. It just irritated her in ways other humans just couldn't understand. I'm dazzle...Hannah. I'm Hannah. She finally corrected herself. There was honestly no need for the messiness she was spewing.

As she took her books back he just smiled and nodded as he stood there for a moment, unsure of she was in need of his services further. Sure he had nothing to do and Abigail was in school, but that didn't mean he wanted to be hanging around kids all day long. After an awkward moment of silence he noticed she faded back into the conversation, seeming a bit shaking and well, distracted. First of all she tried to say her name was dazzle, which was funny. Sure he didn't quite get it or try to laugh to much to make her insecure and feel weird, but he still had a chuckle. "Nice to meet you Hannah." He said calmly as he gave her a polite smile, before running a hand through his hair. After being quite for another moment, he cleared his throat and let his eyes fall on her again, because well, she was actually really cute. "Need anything else, Hannah?"

There was really nothing to do but just stand there. At least in Hannah's case because that's all she was doing. She finally realized that her locker was still open and she was just looking at Forest at this point. You too! She said, slowly walking back to the locker and started to shove the ratchet mess in there. It was kind of unfortunate that she had classes that she was late for because, well, she just didn't want to go.

Hannah bit her lip trying to think of some other reason to keep him there. Uhhhh... She said for the longest time until she finally closed back the locker. Could you maybe teach me how to open this thing? She requested with a chuckle.

She seemed to be so easily distracted, it was rather humorous. Although Forest wasn't one to laugh at people to their face, he felt it was a bit mean - so he held off on it. He grinned slightly as she said it was nice to meet him too, which was always a plus, and he just stood there and watched her put her books up. He couldn't help but feel weird just standing here with her, because to some people it might seem creepy - but it wasn't to him, he had no problem with it at all. He had all the time in the world, however, if she needed him for anything else - so that was always a plus, right?

Forest just smiled and noticed that Hannah seemed deep in thought, well not really deep, but she was thinking. The long "uh" just seemed to be on purpose, because she clearly had no idea what she wanted to do or say. She was pretty adorable for the fact that she was so confused and flustered that she didn't know how to react to anything. Once the locker was closed he just chuckled softly and walked over next to her and put his hand on the dial of the locker and nodded at her. "Of course." He said as he twisted the knob a bit to the right and to the left and then it opened. Before looking at her and smiling, waving to the locker like it was a masterpiece and he was an artist. "Two times to the right to a zero, then one to the left and lift up - it opens them without a combination. Works on all lockers, but don't let that give you an excuse to go around stealing stuff." He said with a slight laugh as he smiled halfheartedly at her, clearly teasing her.
