Late night talk

I laid down on the bed just letting my mind wander but all my thoughts kept going to my mother and Kol, mostly him. I felt as if we never got to say everything we wanted. Things happened so fast that I couldn't even explain how I feel. I sat up and could feel the cold of the wooden floor but it didn't bother me. I had taken off my shoes and my jacket and laid down but now I was heading out the door with neither. I listened to the sounds in the house and heard Elijah downstairs talking but it was on a phone. I couldn't tell wherre Kol was since he didn't make a sound but I went to his bedroom and knocked on the door anyway hoping he would be there.

I was exhausted after tonights events but I was completely restless. I was just lounging on my bed staring at the ceiling. I was not really paying attention to anything that was going on in the world around me. So I didn't notice that Selene was moving around in her room. I bolted straight up from my position when there was a knock on my door. My senses came back to me and I could hear Elijah talking downstairs, so I knew it wasn't him. Nik would have just barged in so it wasn't him either. I got off of the bed and walked over to the door. It was probably Rebekah, if she was in a good mood because that was only when she knocked. I had a grim look plastered on my face as I opened the door. I really didn't want to have to explain what happened to Ravyn to her tonight. When I opened up the door my expression changed quickly, when I saw that it was Selene. "Selene?" I questioned since I figured that she would have been asleep by now. "Do you need anything?" I asked with a small smile.

I smiled back at him and shook my head. "Well, actually I need to talk to you." I told him. "Mind if I come in?" I asked. For whatever reason I was beginning to feel that giggly nervous feeling I used to have when I first met him. He was the mysterious nice guy in town and attracted me to him. Right now I was getting that feeling.

A playful smile spread on my face. "Of course, please come in." I said as I moved out of the way as I bowed my head a little as I motioned for her to enter with my hand. "You can sit where ever you like." I told her as I closed the door after she entered my room.

I walked in as he motioned me in and looked around the room. It was so plain and simple but I could see the scattered objects that just reeked Kol. I sat on the bed when he said I could take a seat and when I sat down I didn't know how to begin what I wanted to say so I just glued my eyes to the floor. "Ugh why is this so hard?" I asked out loud putting my face in my hands. I just needed to talk to him.

I watched Selene carefully as she sat down on my bed. She was staring at the floor while looking like she was about to have a nervous breakdown. Which was confirmed when she spoke. I furrowed my brows at her. I walked closer to her. "What's so hard?"

"Talking to you! It used to be so easy but now its different!" I told him. Kol was that person I could talk to about anything and everything, my special secret person but now its so hard.

I sighed as I walked over to one of the couches across from my bed to give her some space. "I'm sorry that it's different now, I wish that things would have been the way they were." It was different because of all that has happened, between what happened with my brother back when I turned her and the fact that she thought I had left her. Now with everything happening with Ravyn, it was basically a complete and total shit storm.

"Me too but the past is the past, which means that we need to talk." I told him. I wished things were back to the way they used to be too but its not and the only thing we can do is move on. "Kol." I started but stopped to take a deep breath. "I love you."

If I had a drink on be it would have been a spit-take moments. I just starred at her. Did she just say what I think she said? Am I delusional? My mind was going a mile a minute but it couldn't comprehend what she said. I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out of my mouth so I closed it. I tried it again, and I probably just looked like a flundering fish. I didn't bother covering the shock that was plastered onto my face. I cleared my throat a few times before I stuttered out my words. "I love you too." I was true and there was no point in lying. I had fallen in love with her back when she was supposed to be with another man.

When Kol didn't speak for a few moments I actually almost started to cry because I thought he didn't love me back but when he uttered those words I couldn't help the smile that grew on my face and jumping forward kissing him right in the lips. "Finally that part is off my shoulders." I told him when I broke the kiss.

I raised my brow at her after she kissed me suddenly. "Is there more than one part?" I questioned curiously. Her lips tasted so sweet that I needed another taste. I didn't even hesitate before I pulled her onto my lap as I kissed her. While my hand was cupping her cheek.

I was about to reply to Kol when he pulled me in for another kiss that was so soft. I felt his hand on my cheek and I leaned into it, it felt so warm. "Mhm no wait, we need to talk first." I said pulling myself away from him. I really wanted to keep kissing him but I mean we really needed a clean slate, but gosh he was a good kisser!

I actually pouted as she pulled away. But I didn't fight her about it. I rubbed the bridge of my nose before I put my arm down on the arm rest. She was right we did need to talk. I looked directly at her. "Yes we do."

I was glad he didn't disagree with me but I was also kinda sad we couldn't keep kissing. "Good, lets first start off with what happened that night with Thomas. And lets do it this time without fighting." I told him deciding I would stay sitting on his lap, he was comfortable.

I clenched my jaw as I dropped my head. I really didn't want to talk about him. But I would suck it up for Selene. "What about him?"

I looked at Kol incredulous. "What the hell happened? You didn't talk to me for days and you disappeared, then suddenly your there killing him and feeding me your blood. I thought you had left for good." I told him.

"I was trying to avoid my brother. Plus that pathetic boy your adoptive parents matched you up with had a bunch of his buddies attack me." I ground out through my teeth. "I couldn't kill them without exposing myself, or putting you in danger. So I let them beat me to a bloody pulp." I took a deep breath and exhaled heavily. "He followed me a few days later and saw me getting the ring that you're wearing now. He saw how much I payed for it and thought that your family was going around him to give me your hand." I was pulled back into my memories as I spoke. "He went into a jealous fit of rage. He had left a note with the woman that I was boarding me. When I received it. It told me that he had followed you to our normal meeting spot. It also said that if he couldn't have you then no one ever would. When I got to our spot he was stabbing you. You would have died without my blood. I had hoped that my blood would only heal you but you were fading too fast. I had wanted turning to be your choice, but I didn't want to lose you." I said closing my eyes as the memories flooded back into my mind. A choked out laugh slipped through my lips. "The ironic thing is your parents excepted my offer, they just didn't get the chance to tell the two of you."

I sat there as Kol told me what had happened. I knew Thomas was a cranky man but I didn't think he was cruel. What surprised me most is what he said about my adoptive parents. "Wait. My parents were going to let me marry you?" I asked. I was hoping that is what he was saying but with learning what happened that night so many years ago I probably didn't hear right.

I opened my eyes as a smile curled my upper lip. "Yes your parents were going to let us marry. Your parents found out that Thomas wasn't faithful. Which I can honestly say that I had nothing to do with that." I slide my hand up and down her side. "Is it hard to believe that your parents would do that/."

"Um yea, you met them. They were so strict and back in those days you had to marry who your parent's picked. It was always a done deal and it surprises me that they even considered it, unless..." I started. "You didn't compell them did you?" I asked. Kol was chamring and sly but when that didn't work he just went the easy route. I couldn't believe though that I had actually been allowed to marry Kol.

I gaspsed at Selene in mock shock. "Do you really think I'd do that?" I smirked at her. "No actually they thought it would be nice to have a wealthier son-in-law."

I laughed "Oh okay. What ever was I thinking?" I asked being sarcastic and laughing at him. I missed these times with Kol. I shook my head. "Bribing my parents with money, so like you." I laughed.

I gave her an amused smile at her sarcasm. I chuckled at her. "Would you have it any other way? Besides who says I bribed them with money?" I gave her a devilish smirk. "It could have been a pig."

I burst out laughing. "Oh my gosh Kol, what am I going to do with you?" I said. Kol was such a little devil and he always made me laugh. "Sometimes I wonder if I should stake you myself, just so the world has one less dork to worry about." I smiled.
