| Mystic Falls had been... somewhat welcoming to Jordan, or so he thought. Nothing here could harm him, or so it seemed and he would harm nothing here - unless the town folk provoked him. As he peered through the woods with his heightened sight, he found some drunken campers about thirty kilometers away - that was his dinner, he thought. He closed in on them, quickly. His thirst was impossibly overwhelming, up until his beautiful, white porcelain fangs bore into the jugulars of those poor campers. Their blood was.... simply amazing, only because he was hungry. In all honesty it was defiled with alcohol and poor hygiene, it wasn't great blood - but it was good enough to life off of - if need be.
As he sat in one of their camping chairs, he realized how much of a mess he made. All six campers, their throats torn, blood on his lips - it wasn't pretty, and he didn't like thinking of it. Their guns they used for hunting, more specifically, their rifles, had been broken in half and slung at their jeep - shattering its window and denting the body. With a swift movement, he grabbed their cooler and opened it - shitty beer, he thought. That wasn't a problem for him, he popped open a can and began to chug it - just for the hell of it.
"Cheers to me... and my brutal nature. Yay....." |

| When she walked through the forest, Irene always expected the smell of animal blood. After all, there were predators there, small ones, but predators nonetheless. But that wasn't animal blood. No, that was human blood, and lots of it. She was sure there had been a murder in the woods. Whether it was the making of a human, an animal or a vampire, Irene wasn't sure yet, but she knew that that hadn't been a mere broken leg or scratch. Something much more brutal had happened, and that sparked Irene's curiosity.
Moving silently through the forest, she followed the smell, her veins starting to ache with hunger as the smell got stronger. It hadn't been all that long since she had last fed, but she definitely wouldn't mind having another human. She could never have too much blood.
What she saw when she got to the camp wasn't what she had been expecting. A vampire attack. But the vampire author of the murders was no one Irene had met before, and that intrigued her. Was it possible that there was yet another vampire in Mystic Falls?
"I prefer the hunt to the kill, honestly." Irene smirked as she walked into the camp, ignoring the bodies of the murdered campers.

| His muscles tightened and his nostrils flared, and his fangs wretched from his mouth as he felt another vampire coming near. He must have looked fierce as he was approached, but he didn't care. A woman had come out of the shadows, so he relaxed a bit - he could take her, he knew he could. There was no doubting that. She made a comment, about preferring the hunt - as opposed to the kill. Jordan wasn't one for torture, he let them bleed to death, but never would he hunt them - like he had been back in Athens.
"I prefer the kill, it tastes.... better when they are dying while you feed. It is simply.... delicious. Now please, give me three reasons why I shouldn't tear your head plum off your shoulders. And you have maybe.... a minute to tell me, because I am feeling generous. So go on dear! Share with me your reasons."
He giggled now as he threw a chair towards her and leaned back, drinking more beer - wiping blood from his lips. Jordan hadn't planned on killing her, he just wanted to mess with her head. That was something he was good at, manipulation, deceit and being a douche, but that was to be expected. He sat eagerly, ready to hear her reasons. But he had been so rude, he wanted to know her name - they never had met before, so an introduction was necessary.
"I don't plan on killing you by the way, I have a heart. I am Jordan Aguillard, and you must be.... the damsel in distress? No, really though - who are you?" |

| "Damsel in distress is the last thing I am." Irene said with an arrogant smile. She had always prided herself in being self sufficient even during the times when women weren't supposed to be able to live without a man, be that their father or their husband. Irene had never followed those rules properly. All she needed was a cover, someone who made it look like she did, usually compelled escorts, nothing more. It had always been a part of her, maybe because of her vampire side or maybe because of her past, she didn't know and didn't much care.
"I'm Irene, and you are?" Irene smirked slightly, wondering who he was. She had a feeling she could get along with him very well.

| He smiled at her introduction, it was nice to meet her - truly. His beautiful Greek accent rolled off his tongue like an elegant song.
"Irene. Beautiful. I am Jordan Aguillard, it's a pleasure - I am sure. What brings you to the woods though, dear?"
He motioned for her to sit next to him, sending a thought into her mind - just one of the many perks of vampirism. Telepathy as on his side, he absolutely loved it.
"I don't bite, you can trust me - if you so choose." |

| Telepathy was an ability Irene had always liked, but it was one she seldom ever used. Sure, it could be quite handy, but she never trusted people enough to use it. She'd rather keep her thoughts inside her head. But seeing as Jordan had already started using it, she would allow herself to enjoy her vampire side more fully.
"Greek, are you? Nice place, lots of history." She said out loud. Conversations that were being carried out loud would continue to be out loud, she hoped. Some things were just creepy when said in telepathic conversations, like they should be kept private when they were perfectly normal. It made her start searching for hidden meanings, and she almost always found them, even when they didn't exist.
"Trusting is never good idea. And yes, you do bite. Didn't you just bite those six campers? Not that I'm reprimanding you for it, I really couldn't if I wanted to." Irene sent to him, smiling slightly at using telepathy again. It had been a long time.

| He smiled at Irene as she began to revel in her actual nature. He stood up and walked closer towards her and reached his hand towards his face, so he could show affection so she wouldn't be terrified or anything. The trust bit was a bit saddening, it stung his heart a bit - just a tiny bit.
"Trust me then, I am trustworthy. Probe my mind for the truth, I have nothing to hide from you, love."
It was true, he wasn't lying - nor did he intend to lie. But the biting was a bit of a lie, but it was funny. He used telepathy to send her reassurance, though.
"I gave up vampire blood a long time ago, dear." |

| The offer was tempting, but if there was something Irene understood, it was privacy. For her, there were few things more important than privacy, and those were the essentials for life. Life itself and blood. And if she expected her privacy to be kept, she couldn't go around violating other people's mind. Nothing was more private than a person's mind, nothing. Not a diary, not a house, not a room. Nothing.
"The offer is tempting, but no, thanks." Irene declined, probably the first tempting offer she had declined in a long, long time.
"I believe you." She sent to him, a small smile showing on her lips. Just a small one, but a smile nonetheless.

| He smiled back, her smile was cute - and it was interesting. A girl that wasn't all over him, that was great to know - her and Bonnie, the only women that didn't want him and his body. His hand ran down her face and it made him feel odd, his hand felt like it literally electrified. With his mind, he projected another thought into her head.
"Sorry, I am impulsive.... I just had to."
He turned away, and looked down at all the bodies - not good. He shook his head and then contemplated his options of disposal. Burning? Yea - good choice. As he awaited a reply from her - he chucked the bodies of the campers into the fire, and watched them set a blaze. |

| Irene wasn't one to really enjoy physical contact, but she wasn't one to show it either, so while she didn't like it that Jordan touched her face, she didn't flinch away like she wanted to. Instead, she kept herself still, maybe a little too still.
"Not a problem." Irene replied telepathically to Jordan, hoping that he wouldn't be able to sense that it was a lie. But knowing her luck, she was sure he would. That was one of the reasons she avoided using telepathy. It was harder to lie when speaking directly from mind to mind.
Watching the bodies burn, though, was very relaxing. Irene didn't like fire, she never had, and becoming a vampire had only made it worse, but there was something about watching the bodies burn, a sense of ending, that Irene wasn't very familiar with, but which she found out she really enjoyed.
"I'd never watched bodies burning before. It's so... relaxing." Irene sent to Jordan, her eyes fixed on the fire.

| He could sense the fact that she didn't want to be touched, so he made sure to avoid that any further. He sat with her, both of their eyes on the fire. Since when did burning corpses become so... beautiful? The flame light off her skin was amazing, almost mesmerizing and it made Jordan smile - hell, she could probably tell that he was staring at her. He shared her love for the fire - lives ending in a blaze, it even made him laugh - he had punned in his head.
"Death is relaxing. It always will be, down to the last burning body, the last scream of terror - or the last ounce of blood leaving someone's body. We are who we are, and that is what I like - that sense of ending, it is... perfect." |

| "It really is." Irene said, her voice little more than a whisper. She didn't want to ruin that moment, that perfect moment of peace. She could just stay there, watching the bodies burn forever and ever, the flames consuming them slowly, taking them out of existence for good.
Irene never thought she could actually like fire, that she could actually sit there and watch as the flames ate the bodies, turning them into ashes. It was too much like the scene she had watched many centuries ago, when she was still human. That was a memory she couldn't quite remember, but it had still had a big effect on her life. It was also one she wouldn't care for having completely.
"It's so beautiful." She whispered, a small smile coming to her lips.

| He could tell how in love she was with the fire, that sense of ending that was so unfathomably powerful. Deep down, Jordan felt it too - he wished he didn't, but he did - all vampires did at least once. A smile crept up on him, he was enjoying death with a friend, or so he hoped she was his friend, now.
"Yes, it also compels me to want to end more lives, but that is not worth my time. Why wipe out this entire town, when I can just dance around and have my fun - here and there?" |

| Irene shook her head, trying to clear the image of the fire from her mind. What had she been thinking, allowing her guard to go down around a complete stranger? Had he wanted to, he could have taken her down before she could shift her attention back to him. It had been very careless of her, but she hoped it wouldn't happen again.
"But I guess it's a chapter in every vampire's history. I myself have wiped out a couple of cities, more than I cared to clean up after. It is a waste though, when we can live perfectly well killing much less."
