As a citizen of Mystic Falls Virginia, you will create your character and start out here. Either sign up as a canon, or play a newcomer to the small town.. Make friends, make enemies, be a protagonist or an antagonist. It's all up to you, play yourself (as a human...duhr) or anyone else.

| valissa & chase novelle"how can you heal if you're still bleeding? Val closed the stainless steel refrigerator in her kitchen and walked into the living room and sat next to her brother on the grey two-seater upholster. In one hand, she had Multi-Grain Cheerios and chocolate milk poured into plastic purple square-shaped container. In the other, she had her favorite spoon. The one with the plastic purple handle that she used when she was a little kid. Apparently, she didn't want to throw it out due to sentimental value.
She had a French project due today and she doesn't have anything to hand in. It was assigned three weeks ago and it's worth thirty percent of her grade. She hasn't done one single thing to complete it. And the scary thing about this whole predicament is that she doesn't even care. Honestly, she couldn't give two flipping pigs about getting a big, fat 'E' on this very important project that her whole entire year is counting on. It won't matter if she gets held back because of this, because she'd be with the right age group.
Now she's just sitting there on the couch next to her brother, as he watches the morning cartoons on PBS Kids. Summer takes her last bite of cereal before she sets it down on the coffee table in front of her. "Hey, aren't you going to put that in the sink?" She hears her brother say. She responds in a nonchalant shrug and she continues to watch Cailou.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Watching Cailou is a daily routine of Chase's, given that he misses when he was child. Just him and his parents. Don't get him wrong, he loves Valissa with all of his heart but it was so much easier when he was a little kid and he didn't have to worry about anything. His dad seems to be falling head over heals for this new 22 year old girl, he knows that Val is getting worried. She didn't want ANOTHER step-mother young enough to be their sister. And he's getting worried about Val himself. She's acting like... not Val and it's freaking weird.
He's pretty sure that Ms. Aguilar, the spanish teacher, had a project assigned a few weeks ago and he hasn't seen her work on any of it. Or anything at all actually. Whatever, it's not like he knows her schedule. He watches her as she sets her bowl (well it's technically a container. Details.) of cereal onto the table. He asks her if she's going to put it away and she responds with a small shrug. He doesn't know what to make of that so he gets up and grabs the bowl. He walks over to the kitchen and he drops it into the kitchen sink. He walks back into the living room, staring at his sister long and hard. "Is there something up with you?" He asks putting his fists at his hips.

She ignored the way her brother tried to be chivalrous and put away her bowl. And now he seemed to be interrogating her and it was getting on her nerves. She glared up at him from her seat. "I'm sorry, when did you become my father?" She retorted. She jumped up from her seat and bumped his shoulder as she passed by him. She went to the only place where someone would understand her, Andy's room. |

| Andrew yanks the closed stainless steel refrigerator in his cousins’ kitchen, chugging the milk before safely returning it into the fridge--empty. He slips out of sight from his relatives, only before they scramble down the stairs.
Andrew tweaks his glasses, shrugging on his way upstairs. His door--the last to the left--led into the smallest room, with one window, usually kept open. He pushes the door apathetically, kicking off his shoes he had forgotten to pull off and falls onto his bed, attempting to get the last bit of sleep fulfilled.
He doesn’t give a damn about his grades, homework, or that final exam that he has yet to study for. He’s never going to graduate, so why give himself false hope? Andy overhears the noises of awkwardly Chase’s favorite show, Cailou, and pulls his pillow over his head, hiding under the dirty cotton sheets.
His room is a black hole, sucking every thing that has worth and meaning, only to spit the useless objects back into the open. Like his brain--never letting him forget the embarrassing thoughts his mind conjures up. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________
Valissa seems a little off as she rushes into Andy’s small mancave. Andy jumps, falling out of his bed, “What?” he says in a heavy British accent, almost angered. He shakes his head, apologetically, with a concerned, “What happened?” even if it turned out no where near sensible--at all. |

| valissa "val" novelle"how can you heal if you're still bleeding? Valissa quickly ran up the stairs of their two-story house, almost tripping on the eighth step. She's been complaining to her "Step" mom and dad about getting that seventh and eight step fixed. It's a hazard and someone is sure to get hurt. She even created diagrams in how a dangerous situation could occur. But, whatever no one listens to her. 'Cept for Andy.
That's the reason why she's turning to him right now. Val would always go to Andy's room when she just wanted to get away from all the bullcrap. He'd be the only one that wouldn't judge her, because honestly, he's a trainwreck himself. And she can tell him that to his face and he wouldn't be fazed.
She walks through the doorway of Andrew's room and slams the door behind her. She's lock it, but he doesn't really have a lock. She hears a loud thud as she watches him fall to the floor. "Nice one, dipface." She insults. She slips off her leather jacket and throws it in his closet before she dives for his bed. She scoots over just a little bit so she can make room for him to lie back down.
"The world sucks right now," She complains. She takes a pillow from above her head and holds it to her chest to hug it. "But then again, when doesn't it suck?" She takes the pillow and throws it against the wall, although it won't do much to help her situation.
"I am so fucked." |

| “Watch your fucking language.” Andy rubs his head, not even thinking about the hypocritical irony in that sentence.
He raises eyebrows in amusement at the possibility of Chase fucking up, “What’d Chase do this time?” he flutters his eyelashes and broadens his smile as he pulls his leg over his other, almost as if he’s an older women waiting to hear the daily gossip spilled--of course, Andy only wants to hear of his cousin’s failures (although, that sarcastic gesture is more of a fail than anything else imaginable.)
He realizes his abnormal “gesture” and scrambles back to the normal sprawled position on his bed like a normal caveman would, listening intently to his cousin’s problems. Isn’t it much more fun to listen to other people’s problems?
“The world is a shitty little shithole.” he sympathizes, yet curses for lack of a better word (or knowledge of one), “Now explain the real problem here. Is it Chase?” he says a little too quickly and a little too eagerly. |

| “Well, excuse me for trying to sympathize for once.” Andy rolls his eyes, lowering his voice; yet loud enough to be heard with hints of sarcasm, “Shouldn’t someone’s parents named them Winter?” Andrew shrugs when she says Chase didn’t do a damn thing wrong. It figures, he should have known. He plops down on the foam mattress, so it doesn’t mold into his awkward position and curls into the fetal position (he could almost suck his thumb like a baby). Val grabs hold of one of his “fancy” pillows, clutching it. “I stole it.” Andy shakes his head in amusement, “No, it’s from a cheap garage sale.”
Valissa mentions how she’s contemplating dropping out of school. “I suppose you want wise advice, so I’ll say....” he squints his eyes, “give it a year or two and then think through it , ‘kay?”
He looks at her for a brief moment, “We both know you actually have potential, just don’t throw it away.” he’s serious this time. For once. He can’t let his little cousin whom he’s supposed to protect throw her life away over a little stress. |

| valissa "val" novelle"how can you heal if you're still bleeding? "Winter? That's the best you can do? From Pantysniffer to Melonfucker and all of the other British insults and you come up with that?" Valissa refers to the insults that she heard on the young adult British television, Misfits. It's not a show intended for teenagers her age, but what her parents and her brother doesn't know, won't hurt her. She and Andy watch it Skins and Misfits by themselves anyway.
She smirks when Andy mentions that he got it from a garage sale. Leave it to Andrew Carter to get a pillow from people he doesn't even know. They probably had head lice and Andy is the only one she knows that's naive enough to not care about that. She throws the pillow in his face, "You might wanna stop by the local drug store and get some Licenex on your way home from MFHS. You and your Tim Lincecum hairdo."
Her mind slips away when she hears the words wise advice coming out of Andrew's lips. This isn't something she'd want to hear but she tunes in anyway. When he says to stick through it for a little bit longer, she supposes that'd be the right thing to say at the moment. She was never one for taking orders. "Too bad, my mind is firmly set on it." She half thinks. She's not really sure, but she says that for confidence. "Did you ever want to quit school?" She hopes for an honest answer, and she knows she'll get one.
She smiles when he say she's awesome. Well, he didn't actually say that. But he implied it. Don't question what she's saying. She and Andy speak the same language. She sits "I supposed that you want me to say the same about you." She kneels in front of him and grabs a hold of his cheeks, "But I won't." She kisses him on the forehead and walks to his closet to get her jacket.
"You're driving me to school!" She yells out over her shoulder as she enthusiastically skips to his car. |
