Looking for some company

I hear this was a pretty decent place. A place for live bands to play. Better yet, under 18 kids could come. My dad asked me to look for some venues and bands for his next big thing or whatever. I wasn't sure, I never really listen. I walk through the entrance to see that it was empty. Taken that it only day. I decided to walk around to check it out. The floors made some creaking sound that I liked. It harmonized with my squeaky knee-high converse.

I look forward, towards the stage. If only I was what my dad wanted. I ran my fingers through my cherry red hair longing to sing. But I promised to never sing, just to provoke him and not give him the pleasure of doing what he wants me to. Hell, it's not like he's here.

My feet make their way to the stage and I find myself climbing the steps up to the microphone. I was sub-conciously breathing heavily.

There I was singing my favorite song by my favorite artists. Okay, so it's not hardcore rock that my look would make you assume...but it's me and it's what I love.

When I finished, I came down. There wasn't really much applause because it was somewhat empty, the Mystic Grill that is.

I drunkenly clapped my hands together. "Bravo!" I looked around at the faces staring and glaring at me, "What? I can't clap for the girl?" I walked over to this mysterious girl, stumbling slightly. "Why, hello, there. The name's Stefan." I paused to catch my breath so I didn't puke, "Salvatore."

Someone sitting a little bit away was clapping and it kinda almost startled me, ya know the silence and all. I wasn't looking forward to any company. I hated people. I admit it. They just annoy me, but there was no reason for me to yell at him. I drop my feet as I sit on the edge of the stage.

"Thanks," I flatly say. I turn my head the other way hoping not to make eye contact with him, because once I do, I'll start yelling. "I'm...Val." I say looking at my feet. "..Fabray."

"Question, why are you clapping for me? It's a little too obvious, I kinda blow..." When I go in to take a deep breath, I smell something strong. This dude was fucking drunk. "..Ugh, never mind."

I sat down next to her and looked her straight in the eyes. I could see it, confusion and- pain? This was a different type of pain, like it was striking memories. I grinned wide, canines showing. "Be a nice girl, now." Where the hell was this coming from? This was not me nor the alcohol forming these words. I snapped my eyes away from her's so she couldn't see my eyes burning red. "Ugh, I think I should go and sit down." I rushed over to the farthest table where I sat and hid my eyes from everyone.

I rolled my eyes with a smirk. "WellI'll be a nice girl, when you're a sober boy." I wonder if he was like this when he was actually sober. I jumped back as I saw his sharp teeth. He then left, like moved to a far far table. I jogged over, and he had his face buried in the table. "Dude...Stefan, you good?" I ask.

I lightly shook my head in my arm, "You don't want to see me like this." I so badly wanted to scream at myself for letting this happen, in public. In front of everyone in Mystic Falls. What a fool I was.

I l shook my head, "Please boy, I looked worse when my mom and dad split. And well, ya know, when she died..." I sat in front of him smiling. "I hope ya know I'm not leaving until you pic your face up...you're drunk so you get a free pass for whatever I see."

Her words soaked into me, I nodded in my arm. Hesitantly, I slowly lifted my head up, revealing my burning red eyes to her. "Shh. You can't scream."

I winced, stepping back frightened by his eyes and those veins around his eyes. "I...I won't. But what the hell is up with your face? No offense of course.."

OOC: Sorry it took me so long, so many threads and websites.

I quickly stood up, lightly grabbed her arm, and led her outside into the cold air.
Once we were in the alleyway beside Mystic Grill, I leaned in closer so no one could hear our conversation.
"You have to promise me that you can't tell anyone this." I was beginning to sober up.
Once I got her word of promise, I began to explain.
"I'm sure that you've heard of vampires before," I looked straight into her eyes, "They're real. I am a vampire." I was preparing myself to cover her mouth from screaming.
