Brief History: Elena lived with her brother Jeremy and aunt Jenna and was having a difficult time after her parents (Miranda and Grayson)'s death. After there death she broke up with her friend and short time love Matt Donovan. She meets Stefan Salvatore and immediately have a bond. She meets his brother Damon and eventually learn that Stefan and Damon are vampires. She also finds out that she's the doppleganger of Katherine Pierce, a vampire that Stefan and Damon loved 1864. She finds out that her real parents are John Gilbert (Tries to kill Damon and Stefan so Elena hates him) and Isobel Flemming (Turned herself into a vampire andAlaric Saltzman's ex wife).
She starts to fall for Damon but he frequently upsets her (Nearly killing her cousin Jeremy and trying to maker her turn into a vampire). But he does prove to be a good guy after he finally lets go of Katherine.
